As I'm obviously 16 again (see yesterday's shot re glandular fever) it's a good job I ordered these shiny silver 14 hole DMs.
I love my new boots. They are the perfect grey, and great for kicking fallen leaves/stomping in puddles.
When one goes through his/her photos sometimes I have been known to throw it in the trash. This photo is an example. When I first looked at it there was only this eagle in the corner and not very interesting at the time. Scrap heap. Three days later a last review and I decided to take another look. This is the result. I have no idea what sequence of events were about to happen or maybe had already taken place.
A standard EFE, DMS casting modified to have a forward mounted stairwell in place of the usual central position.
The original bay has been enclosed and the previous stairwell panel has been drilled out and hand filed to shape.
First colour coats applied, again to be reborn in the livery of one of the famous Doncaster independents.
I suppose you know which one....

Some pictures taken by the late Michael Cleary. September 1983.
Performing on the long-established 47 between Southampton and Winchester.
Some pictures taken by the late Michael Cleary. Autumn 1983 I believe.
It seems that Michael went from Brill to Oxford on a DMS. I'm jealous! Interestingly, if you take a trip down here on Streetview, you will find a rather ornate open-sided shelter on the grass approximately beside the bus. It looks like its been there there for a very long time, but clearly it hasn't! www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.8189657,-1.0520279,3a,75y,85.84...

An unlikely sight in Watford in April 1992. This was a Herts CC Sunday contract. I think the limited service was only Harlow to Watford. I have the operator down as 'Green Rover'....

Scottish Vintage Bus Museum,Fife - from my late brothers collection.
Towards the end of Fleetline operation in London in May 1992. The 68 didn't have any scheduled Ds on it, but they were occasional visitors. This is Euston.
