A Guilford Westbound is led by one of those great 3 builder lashups that the D&H was known for. The 454 leads a GP39-2, a 2nd hand ex CR GP40, a U23B, and another GP39-2 at Browns Crossing, NY on a fine Spring afternoon in the Canisteo River Valley on May 12, 1984.

A cool Saturday Night Special for a hot day. It was in the upper 80's here today as I picked pumpkins and mowed grass, ugh!! Here is a cool picture of D&H 454 emerging from the East portal at Tunnel, NY on December 1, 1980. Photo by the late Tom Trencansky. I could have taken photo's like this too, but I only ever ventured back to the East portal once, and that was for an N&W SD35 leading..
