The model is wearing an original vintage blue denim jumpsuit. At that time there was no elastane, so the fabric hardly gave. The suit was 1-2 sizes too small, sat on the skin like a catsuit. Sunderland Corporation's double deck orders were rather less individual than those for dingle deck vehicles. Like South Shields the preference was for Roe bodywork on Daimler Fleetline chassis, this one new in March 1966. The front lower deck screen is imho an unattractive piece of design. Here 1284 as the vehicle was in the Tyne & Wear PTE fleet after it's formation is seen in Beaumont St with the succinct destination of TOWN. Behind is a LAWS Supermarket, a Gateshead based company which had a fair number of stores in the NE, it was taken over by Scottish company William Low and the latter was eventually bought out by Tesco. 12 1/2p for a can of beans, bargain! The city of Dresden held a similar international festival for schlager musicians from 1971 until shortly before reunification. There was a national schlager contest hosted yearly in Magdeburg from 1966 to 1971 as well.

Went to the London Distinguished Gentleman's Ride today. I totally failed to raise any funds for the cause. Heres hoping I helped raise at east a smidgen of awareness. Enough for one guy to check his balls before its to late would be enough.
I met the guys from Herald and saw a total of 12 Heralds throughout the day. 12 of the buggers! Only one Sinnis. Herald have gotten quite popular. Hats off to them.
