Used InMaps inmaps.linkedinlabs.com/ to create a visualization of my various professional networks on LinkedIn. I am not surprised that I have a lot of fairly unconnected clusters, as my modus operandi is to explore very distinct professional worlds (even in high school and junior high school I tended to connect to different cliques---interesting to see this has continued into adulthood). One thing that does surprise me is the relative interconnectedness of my videoblogger connections and DC social media connections (the green and orange clusters). I will have to dive into that and explore those connections more closely.

It was a great night for #DCTech as we hosted another DC Sessions event at Crystal Tech Fund. We chatted with Vox Media's Jim Bankoff who runs all aspects of Vox Media, one of the fastest growing online publishers, focused on the sports, personal technology and gaming categories.

The night consisted of valuable conversations of digital advertising and scaling of content along. A big thanks to our sponsor and venue, Crystal Tech Fund! To read more, check this article out: bit.ly/1o0Fs65

This Friday Transparency Camp will kick off a weekend of open government hacking with a happy hour hosted in the Development Seed / MapBox garage. Come out to meet folks working on expanding open data, collaboration, and government transparency, enjoy some drinks, and play a few heated rounds of foosball and ping pong.

The happy hour will run from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Development Seed garage, located off of 14th Street between R and S. We'll be in the back alley, so from 14th turn west (left coming from downtown) on R, make the first right, and look for the big orange sign.
