DC (Donau City) Tower 1 is 220 metres high, which makes it the tallest skyscraper not only in Vienna but also in Austria. It was finished in 2014 and designed by a French architect Dominique Perrault.

even at 1/8th of second.. It still has the little spark trail.. Thank God there was tiny little bit of breeze, it looks like is blown North Westward.. If there was no breeze at all.. I think the smoke would delute with the sparks.

NS 4002 and 4004, the newest DC to AC conversions to hit the road, head west along BNSF's Mendota Subdivision at the old bridge west of Galva, IL.

I almost got completely screwed by the GALBRC, but thankfully they had baretables bringing up the rear. I almost didn't spend some PTO on these, but I thought they wouldn't be paired up forever and this may have been my only shot. Glad I did!

I was fortunate to have a day and an evening to tour and photograph in DC last week. I was even more fortunate to meet flickr friend Scott McLeod there

(www.flickr.com/photos/dscottmcleod) for a walking tour. Scott made the trip a success with his suggestions on places and times and even exposures. Look at Scotts truly great channel.

This is a three shot combination into HDR in LR then I sharpened it in NIK to give the present look.

DT&I’s runthrough freight DC-9 makes its way south toward Cincy through Dayton, OH on the PRR. A B&O transfer/local can be seen rolling through Wayne Ave interlocking as well. A cool Kool sign in the foreground. With a little bit of fog or haze in the air tells of a summer morning. 7/18/1975. No info on original photographer. CWC Slide Collection.

Some more figures I recently made.

L - R

Deadshot: Just the figure from my last set with some minor changes.

Temperature Control Batman: My take on Batman's cold protection suit, combined it with his heat protection suit.

Jim Gordon: Simple figure, torso is scratched up a bit.

Anarky: Kinda my own take, went through a couple different versions before settling.

Along the Tidal Basin, Washington DC

A rework of this long exposure image of the imposing DC Tower. Topaz de-noise brought out much more detail in this image and some adjustments in Lightroom of the River Danube.

This is the sky line of Donau City a new development in Vienna with this impressive DC Tower some 250 metres to the top, 64 floors, 29 lifts and rooftop restaurant and bar with stunning views across Vienna.

LInk to information about the tower - dctower.at/en/news-details-en/dc-tower-opens-its-doors-to...

The lift we went in is one of the fastest in Europe and is pre-programmed before you get in..... no buttons inside just a display with the floor numbers as you go whizzing upwards at 8 metres per second !! Got to be one of the best views in Vienna having a meal or drink looking out from the 57th/58th floor.

If you wish to stay there look for " Meliá Vienna"

Here is a quote from their website :-

"A unique hotel experience in Austria´s tallest skyscraper, the Danube City Tower.

An iconic building designed by the prestigious French architect Dominique Perrault, with spectacular 360 degree views of the Danube River and the city of Vienna

Located in the emerging Danube City business district near the Austria Center Vienna and United Nations offices (UNO) and next to Danube Island, the largest recreation area in Vienna with direct underground connection to the city center".

Photo was taken from the middle of the Danube, f/11, 10secs, ISO 50.

This exhibit was not labeled but I took it to be three boneyard DC-3s that had been turned into an art exhibit of some sort at some point.

They’re on a back lot at the Pima Air & Space Museum near one of the first 747s ever built by Boeing, but not close enough to juxtapose photographically.
