"La gloria di Colui che tutto move
per l'universo penetra e risplende
in una parte più e meno altrove."
"The glory of Him who moveth everything
Doth penetrate the universe, and shine
In one part more and in another less."
Incipit from "Dante Alighieri's Paradiso"
At around 11:30 PM, CSX K706-10 passes the Union Baptist Church at Dante, VA with Canadian National’s BC Rail heritage engine leading.
Dante strives for everlasting peace within her lands. The promise of all Dragon hatchlings continues to hold fast awareness that our waters, land and skies are forever protected. Dare not loop toward battle at us as your conflict will encounter clashes of great defeat. Vanquish those thoughts before your eyes outwit your mind. Just know we rest well and our strength nuzzles within each swinging branch, Continued
Abrasive smoke on the Third Terrace (wrath) of Purgatorio: he who, over injury received, resentful for revenge grows greedy and, angrily, seeks out another's harm (Purgatorio, Canto XVII). 7Artisans manual lens wide-open, outdoors, backlit, reflector used. Dante's View is a viewpoint terrace at 1,669 m (5,476 ft) height, on the north side of Coffin Peak, along the crest of the Black Mountains, overlooking Death Valley. Dante's View is named from Dante Alighieri, who wrote the Divina Commedia (Divine Comedy), in which there are described the nine circles of Hell, the seven terraces of Purgatory and the nine spheres of Paradise. ... The group was immediately persuaded and promptly called this point Dante's View. Dante’s View is the primary overlook in Death Valley National Park because it offers premier panoramic views. Below Dante’s View is Badwater Basin, the lowest point in North America. Across the valley rises Telescope Peak, the highest in the park. Under the morning light, the views are breathtaking in every direction. It feels like cheating to be able to drive right up to such amazing views.
Hikers heading for an overlook, 5,475 feet above the floor of Death Valley. They will look down on the lowest point in North America (-262 feet).

Deep in the hollers of Russell County Virginia, cool mountain air and heavy fog set the scene as CSXT 544 South awakes the small mining community of Dante just before sunrise.
Seen here splitting the signals at N.E. Dante, C406-20 fights wet rail and the steep 1.8% descent down Sandy Ridge with 14,730 tons of coal for the Cliffside Steam Plant in Brice, Nc.
With word getting out that the Kingsport Subdivision is soon to be receving more signal upgrades, You can’t help but wonder how many battles with gravity the US&S P-5’s here will get to see.

When in the dark night I await your arrival, It seems to me that everything hangs by a thread. What are honors worth, even freedom, when she comes quick and plays the pipe? Look, there he comes! She throws aside her veil And he stares at me for a long time. I say: «Were you the one who dictated to Dante the pages on hell?» And she answers: "I am that one."
