So, my senseless thought for today: What is the meaning of the word Ta-da (Tada, ta-dah)? I think it means, Voilà (Vwa-Lah, Wa-Lah, Wa-La). Glad I cleared that up.
Resilience in Winter Silence – An Old Tree by the Korana River
By the Korana River stands an old tree, stripped by winter but never defeated.
Snow traces its veins while the river’s mist gives it breath — a quiet reminder that life never stops, it only changes form.
In that stillness I see us: those who have lived through many winters and yet continue to stand.
Not out of stubbornness, but out of love for the light that always returns.

Na obali Korane stoji staro stablo, ogoljeno zimom, ali ne i slomljeno.
Snijeg mu crta vene, a magla iz rijeke daje dah — kao tiha potvrda da život nikad ne prestaje, samo mijenja oblik.
U toj tišini prepoznajem nas: one koji su prošli mnogo zima, ali još uvijek stoje.
Ne zbog tvrdoglavosti, nego zbog ljubavi prema svjetlu koje uvijek ponovno dolazi.
Ein absolutes Highlight konnte am 8. Februar bei Vierkirchen fotografiert werden: die halbseitig beige-blau beklebte 151 075-9 hatte einen schönen Güterzug (EZ 51732) von Nürnberg Rangierbahnhof nach München Nord am Haken.
On 8th February I had the opportunity to take this picture of 151 075-9 hauling a mixed freight train from Nuremberg to Munich.
After hearing news of the RBG still present I made a return trip early morning. The sun was just about to show itself and I saw TWO male RBG flitting around the dense poison Hemlock. This one was chasing it off. I took some nice frame fillers and came back later and did see a female Grosbeak, but was unsure if it was of the Rose type. They look the same as the Black Headed to me. I went back early this morning and stuck around for about 30 min. plus and no signs of the males. We've been fortunate to have these vagrants visit this year. I shall post more later :) Enjoy :)
When I first looked at this stem, the two side branches reminded me of someone spreading their arms and saying "tah-dah, here I am"!

Windungsreich zieht sich dei Nebenbahn von Kaufbauren nach Füssen durch das Ostallgäuer Voralpenland - an den zahlreichen unbeschrankten Bahnübergängen muss von den Zügen daher das Pfeifsignal gegeben werden. Auch bei Weizern macht sich der LINT-Triebwagen VT 172 der Bayerischen Regiobahn am Neujahrstag 2022 bemerkbar.

"Rot" .... Die fotografische Herausforderung liegt bei dieser Aufnahme in der Wahl des Objektives - es ist eine alte Linse ( Helios / USSR ) und einer meiner beiden neuen externen Blitze wurde als Aufsteckblitz auf der Kamera verwendet . Alles in Manueller Bedienung.

Daher wurde die Reflektorkarte gezogen und die Streuscheibe verwendet .

only the 1025 ex Wernigerode in February catches the light at this location at the back of the hotel near Drei Annen Hohne in the Harz. 2018 yielded sun and snow.
Es ist Urlaubszeit, auch für mich, daher war seit langem mal wieder ein Rheintalbesuch angesagt. Die Bahn stand dieses mal allerdings nicht im Vordergrund.
Am 14.06. um 04:30 ging es in Nürnberg los, gegen 07:30 stand ich bereits in Lorch in den Startlöchern. Nach zwei schwarzen 182 kam erfreulicherweise plötzlich die BLS 486 510 mit einem KLV ums Eck.
Die Ortschaft im Hintergrund ist übrigens Trechtingshausen.

Aus persönlichen Gründen wurden digital einige LKW und das Auto des zuständigen Fahrdienstleiters entfernt.
Neben Nemotice ist Kyjov ein weiterer Klassiker an der Strecke von Brno nach Uherské Hradiště. Es steht immer mal wieder im Raum, dass in naher Zukunft die aktuell mit Brille verkehrenden Sp aus dem Plan genommen werden und auch mit Triebwagen gefahren werden. Daher ist gerade der Sp 1771 spannend, da dieser mit täglich wechselnder Brille fährt und das an jedem Tag der Woche, außer an Samstagen.
Mit Berlin und Leipzig gehört Frankfurt zu den letzten Einsatzgebieten der 762er Steuerwagen. Doch auch im Kinzigtal neigt sich ihre Ära dem Ende zu. Die betagten Fahrzeuge drehen hier bald ihre letzten Runden, denn nicht nur die Baureihe 114 wird in absehbarer Zeit von den aus Bremen kommenden 146.1 ersetzt – auch die 762er Steuerwagen stehen vor dem endgültigen Abschied.
Viele dieser Steuerwagen werden nach Ablauf ihrer Fristen voraussichtlich nicht mehr in den Betrieb zurückkehren. Wer die Gelegenheit nutzen möchte, sie noch einmal im regulären Einsatz zu erleben, sollte daher nicht zögern. Besonders im Spätsommer letzten Jahres bot sich entlang der Kinzigtalbahn noch einmal die Chance, diese bald historischen Züge in Aktion zu sehen.
Ein besonderer Moment ergab sich in Wirtheim, wo mit etwas Glück eine Garnitur mit besagtem Steuerwagen auf ihrer Fahrt in Richtung Fulda bildlich festgehalten werden konnte.

Die Wand ist ein Gegenstand, der ursprünglich entwickelt wurde um als Raumtrenner in Häusern zu dienen. Viele Kunden betrachteten dies jedoch als ziemlichen Unsinn, daher waren die Verkaufszahlen zunächst eher mäßig. Doch bald wurden neue Verwendungsmöglichkeiten für dieses wundervolle Machwerk entdeckt, so kann man z.B.:
Darauf einschlagen wenn man schlecht Laune hat
Dagegenlaufen, wenn man Selbstmordgedanken hegt
Dagegenschlagen wenn der Nachbar wieder zu laut ist
Medaillen daran aufhängen um o.g. Nachbarn neidisch zu machen
Die Wand in den geschmacklosesten Farben anmalen um der Welt zu zeigen wie wenig Geschmack man besitzt

I've spent hundreds of hours playing The Elders Scrolls V : Skyrim, and been wanting to build a scene from the game for years.
When I began playing it again a few months ago, I realized there was now perfect parts to represent the effects of the Shouts : the power burst shields. This was the starting point of the build, and I immediately knew I'd have to represent the most famous of them : Fus Ro Dah, or Unrelenting Force, which sends your enemies flying away.
The recently released smilodon was a good addition to the build, since these creatures appear in the game, so I decided I would showase other parts that appeared in 2018, like the tree trunk costume, or the (now mandatory) magic wand.
The base is similar to the one I've built for my ankylosaurus, in the sense that you can see parts of the landscape covering the frame and expanding beyond it.
The scene itself reminds me of In Cold Blood, as both MOCs represent someone falling to his death, and I actually initially intended to use the technique I used to build the wall of the pool to build the cliff, in order to reinforce the similarities between both builds. I couldn't make it work, though, and since I wanted to give the cliff a distinctive look, I decided to come up with a brand new way to do the rocks (or at least I haven't seen such a technique used before) : lots of small blocks precisely adjusted with Mixel Joints.
Am 02.05. wollte ich mir die Fischbauchbrücke in Neusorg vornehmen, davor musste aber noch etwas Zeit totgeschlagen werden, daher ging ich rund um Pechbrunn auf Fotostellensuche und wurde in Groschlattengrün fündig, dort fuhren mir zwei unbekannte Oberpfalzbahn Linte vor die Linse, dabei harmoniert die Farbe des Zuges ganz gut mit dem Löwenzahn auf der Wiese. :)
Im August und September kam es an der Dieselpiste Lübeck – Bad Kleinen zu einem ungewohnten Ansturm an Fotografen. Grund war ein mit 218 bespanntes IC-Zugpaar, welches die durch die Sperrung der Strecke Hamburg-Berlin ausfallenden Fernzüge nach Binz ersetzen sollte. Während der 6 Wochen kamen immer wieder andere 218 in verschiedensten Farbgebungen zum Einsatz. An unserem Fototag war einer der Schlümpfe von PRESS (218 412 / 218 058) eingeteilt.
Hier fährt der IC gerade in den Bahnhof Grevesmühlen zum Kreuzungshalt mit einem überbesetzten und verspäteten RE 4 ein. Daher begaben sich die Fotografen unmittelbar nach dem Foto zur Straßenbrücke direkt am Ausfahrsignal, von wo aus ein weiteres Foto geschossen werden konnte.

Two Drokpa girls playing at the window with the cle. In a remote village like Dah-Hanu, kids don't have really much of choice relating to toys. Dah - Hanu are very small villages of Drokpa people in Ladakh region of north India located not far from the Indo- Pakistan border.
Sad to see this one looking untouched for a few years now. An upload of recent photos here, and all the best to all my Flickr friends for 2025 if I'm not back online again this year.
The 199 class of diesel locomotives are affectionatly known as Harzkamels. They are used occasionally in the winter for service trains to replace railcars. This one seen at Drei Annen Hohne with the snow plough attached. They are also used for shunting coaching stock at Wernigerode
