Vient d'arrivée , de sa longue migration, c'est la 1° que j'observe cette année et ICi même très tard dans la soirée à mon retour de sortie photos, 18h 41'

( + de 18 heures aussi l'année dernière et exactement également au même endroit)

Ici un mâle qui vient pomper les minéraux

qu'il trouve dans les graviers d'un chemin du vignoble,

eh oui certains papillons ne recherchent pas que le suc des fleurs, lui par contre fait les deux.

Très grand migrateur, la Belle-Dame, est le papillon qui a l'aire de distribution, la plus large au monde : elle peut être observée sur tous les continents à l'exception de l'Antarctique et de l'Amérique du Sud, peuvent couvrir près de 500 km en 1 jour,

ne faisant que de rares pauses pour se nourrir sur les fleurs de chardon.

This is Cynthia and me leaving the butterfly haus (house) at the Wildseed Farm in Fredericksburg, Texas, yesterday. We spent hours there! I'm wearing my new wildflower t-shirt :)

They have a mirror at the exit so you can check for butterflies on your back and don't leave with butterflies on you! They landed all over us. It was so cool!

The background looks like a watercolor painting.

That's actually the inside of the butterfly haus.
