With missed days in mid-December due to illness, I now need 13 miles/day to hit my cherished 7300 mile goal for the year (AKA as 20 miles/day average). Today I did 14 miles in wet flurries at about 32F. Maybe not making it makes it more interesting at least!
Another cold wet day, but I wanted 20 miles to keep on schedule to hit 6000 miles before November. Today got me to 5984.
My birthday ride was a flop, with weather conditions driving me back to the couch with my cats after 6 miles. 44°F with rain on winds gusting to 36 mph. Here is Mr. Taylor drying out in front of the fan. At least I tried!
6590 miles for 2023 so far. After a pulled muscle slowed me down early in the month, I getting back to my usual pace.
6542 miles in 2022. It will be in the 30s (F) for a few days. But at least no snow accumulation yet!
From the back side of a Miroir du Cyclisme poster which has seen better days (and was being put to rest).
Today's nine mile ride brought me to 100 miles short of last year's 8437. Eighteen days to work with, hopefully with not too much of this white stuff.

I did another 46 miles in a bid to get ahead of schedule for a 1000 mile month. About a 17 mile advantage with 5 days left to go. Today’s challenge was 18 mph winds out of the NW…on top of saddle discomfort. I encountered one cyclist who passed me at breath taking speed (I really suspect an e-bike) who didn’t even turn his head to acknowledge me. In the 60s my dad would stop the family car to interrogate any cyclist we spotted. Seeing a cyclist on a real bike was like spotting an Ivory-Billed Woodpecker!
