This was a little girl watching the protest, wondering what it would be like to truly walk among us.
You can grow up as a product of your race, hating yourself and never doing any good. Or, you can grow up with an emphasis on kindness no matter what your race happens to be. Every day, I fight the former and strive for the latter.

As I said before, I wanted to show a variety of different perspectives that I don't always show at a protest when I am just trying to capture the crowd overall and the mood/energy. Here is a good lookout for photographers at one of the El staircases to see at a better height. I have rarely used this myself because it separates you from the crowd of protestors, who I am yelling and marching with typically. Up here is in the center is also my friend Vern Hester, who shoots a lot of events and concerts for Chicago's Windy City Times. I like seeing him whenever I get a chance!

I wanted to capture multiple aspects of the protest I went to Saturday afternoon..not just the sense of the crowd but a sense of the speakers, the individuals crying out with passion and the people passing by that wanted to join in and weren't sure what choice to make. This is a woman and her son...not sure what choice they did make but they were confronted with the police and the protestors. She could have decided to teach her child well, to question everything and fight for everything too...or she could have just been trying to cross the line to go into a building on our side. What do you think she decided to do? There's the essence of the human story here and it's one that has been told time and time again. We want to be indecisive sometimes but even no choice is a choice.

We're at a very strange and terrifying place in America right now. There is still a resistance but I think many people are getting tired of fighting, of constantly calling their members of congress. Increasingly, the number of Americans who disapprove of Trump and are terrified of him getting us into WWIII with North Korea grows. But, it's difficult to have the stamina to keep up that constant fear forever. It's sort of like your Sympathetic Nervous System and fight or flight. At first, we were all in fight mode. We were protesting downtown, at the airport, in extremely frigid temperatures. We were enraged and not afraid to show it. Now, we're in a sort of flight mode. We're weary and worried about our own health...we're afraid we're going to have a heart attack or a stroke. We're worried that not only chemicals can cause Cancer but negative thoughts too. We chide ourselves for getting tired, not being more active, turning off the news. We think we've perhaps signed enough petitions for a lifetime. We think maybe we'll just keep our fingers crossed and hope Robert Mueller takes care of the rest.
And, in this hope, there's also this very strange sort of optimism that flirts with the hopelessness of trying to be patient but seeing how much damage Trump does each day and how much closer he gets to getting us into a war by acting like a bully visiting the big kids' playground. Because, we see a possibility of escaping this upside down..of joining the reality we're supposed to be in-the one where Trump didn't succeed in stealing an election and robbing us of our democracy. And, we see the republican party, many of whom opposed a panel to fight the cyber-terrorism of Russia when they knew their party could benefit and many of whom also have taken their own bribes from Russia...well, we see that party of traitors fall. But, the democrats aren't good enough either. Their "progressiveness" has turned this country into a nation of for profit education hacks and has partially allowed the way for all these cracks against women and the poor to deepen. True progressiveness means socialized medicine. True progressiveness means options for women everywhere. True progressiveness means we have consistent background checks for any weapon. True progressiveness means we stop treating corporations like people and start treating all people like humans. True progressiveness means we take the reigns on the police force and stop tolerating these extreme racist abuses that put our country back. True progressiveness isn't afraid of a few toppled lousy racist statues and it isn't afraid to do what is just.
I'm not the hugest proponent of Communism because I have seen how that can be just as corrupted and fail the citizens of a country but I am a proponent of a system of government that gives back more to its citizens than it does to rich corporations and one that provides more for the working class and for immigrants than it does for a traitor's golfing trips.
And it might take more of us in the streets. And it might take more calls. And it might take a certain level of vigilance to be sustained even on our worst days. We have to feel like the future and this country is worth fighting for-all the good, the bad, and especially all the marginalized groups. Protesting isn't merely patriotic any more..it's a necessity for survival.

One of the enlightening aspects about going to protests is hearing different perspectives from various speakers. This past Saturday was pretty exceptional and everyone who spoke was passionate and intelligent. Such talented well meaning people should be speaking to millions. Instead, we have a president who has trouble forming complete sentences and just threatens everyone. It's embarrassing to say the least and dangerous as well.
I wouldn't consider myself religious at this point in my life but I believe in the practice of kindness towards all people and I think that's something to aim towards and live by.

Profile: Knifenight was an alleged spy before he became a terrorist, though it is possible that they are part of his false lies and claims. He has mentioned occasionally that he is fully an android after being purged of his internal system, leaving him paralysed.
Multiple incidents with the ES has brought Knifenight into conflict with each other, however after the ES disbanded, he decided to focus on other goals, turning to cyberterrorism, extortion and extreme vandalism.
Powers and abilities: Claims of being an android means equivalent to having the powers of super strength, speed, durability and etc. He is known to have lung problems, a part which he exactly confirms, and whilst being technological he still wears a gas mask to hide his lower face. He also has an ability
Equipment: Skull suit (represents death), biker pants (similar to the Terminator but in gray), carries guns and hacking tools. Has a tendency to call in backup if he needs it.
Personality: Psychological profile determines that he can neurotic, cold, calculating, and often refers to himself in 3rd person.
It's funny, yet everything portrayed is within the realms of possibility. (It looks better in large size).

Below is the script for a cyberpunk/action-based five minute short film I will be making.
I'm not looking for comments like "Wow, awesome!" or "Cool script!". Those comments will be deleted. Instead, I want you to tell me what you don't like about this script, and what I can do to fix it.
EXT. CITY – ESTABLISHING
Rain. The city is a mix of bright neon lights and a dark polluted sky. Murmur from crowds and cheap pop music fills the ears.
Man (V.O.)
In the near future, the Cronus Virus will wipe out the majority of computers. Recovery will take ten years.
We begin to move away from the city, and then SOAR through into a building.
INT. VEXXTON COMPLEX – ESTABLISHING
We are looking at the city through a window. The hall is white and clean, with company posters plastered on the walls.
Man (V.O.)
After the recovery, the top manufacturer of computers will be Vexxton.
PAN UP - A man casually walks towards the camera. He wears a black trench coat and carries a briefcase in one hand. He walks past an educational poster.
INSERT – POSTER
The poster reads “THE CRONUS VIRUS: INFO ON THE LATEST IN CYBERTERRORISM”.
INT. COMPUTER HALLWAY
ANGLE ON – DOOR
A security guard is standing in front of the door. The man ducks back behind the wall.
Man (V.O.)
One guy? This should be easy.
The man takes a breath. He quietly sets down the suitcase, and inches toward the guard.
GUARD’S POV – We turn around to see-
The man throwing a punch at the screen.
CUT TO:
INT. HALLWAY
The man enters frame, dragging the body of the unconscious guard. He props him up against the wall, and takes his gun.
INT. COMPUTER ROOM – ESTABLISHING
The room is dark, but we can see shelves of computers. CPUs hum, and nobody else is in the hallway.
Man
Jackpot.
ANGLE ON – Suitcase being unlocked.
The man opens the case and takes a laptop out. He boots up one of the computers, connects it to his, and starts to type.
ANGLE ON – MAN’S FACE
Light dances across his determined face
CLOSE UP ON – COMPUTER MOUSE
Frantically moving and clicking.
ANGLE ON - MAN’S FACE
He grins.
Suddenly, a figure enters the background.
Mysterious Person
FREEZE!
A man is standing in the hallway, gun in hand. He wears a military-style vest with a familiar logo on the front. A Company Agent.
Company Agent
Company Agent, turn around with your hands in the air!
The man does just that.
Man
Damn, I thought he was the only one.
Company Agent
What’s your name?
Man
You work here. You should know.
Company Agent
So you’re an employee?
Man
Not anymore. My name is Robert Drayton.
Company Agent
Well, Robert Drayton, you are being charged with violating this Company’s Stored Communication Policy, as well as assault on a Vexxton employee.
Robert
Hey, I’m not breaking the law! I’m just doing what’s right!
Company Agent
What you are doing is against Company law. Now turn around and shut off that computer.
Robert
Vexxton doesn’t play by the rulebook, so why should I?!
The Agent RAISES his gun.
Company Agent
Keep your mouth shut, and turn it off.
Robert doesn’t move.
Company Agent
NOW!
Robert slowly turns around, reaches for the CPU—
But goes for his coat! He pulls out the gun and aims it at the Agent—
Who has already hit the floor. Bullets PLOW into the wall above him. He gets up and fires-
And Robert turns around. Metal harmlessly SMACKS into his BULLETPROOF trench coat.
Robert PIVOTS back around, SQUEEZES the trigger-
And a BEEP sounds.
Gun
Please recharge battery. Please recharge battery…
Robert tosses his gun and trench coat aside. The Agent gets up to see-
Robert disappearing under an ACTIVE CAMOUFLAGE COAT. He is now completely invisible.
AGENT’S POV – A faint blur goes through the door, and out into the hall.
INT. HALLWAY
The Agent BARRELS out behind the wall. The blur that is Robert runs down the hallway. The Agent stops, WHIPS out his gun, and OPENS FIRE. He looks up to see—
A miss. Robert is gone. The Agent RUSHES down the hall.
Company Agent
We have a leak! I need all exits sealed now!
INT. AUDITORIUM
Red seats fill the room, ending in a stage with a spotlight shining in the middle.
WIDE SHOT ON - The Company Agent inching through rows of seats.
Company Agent
There’s no way out, it’s over!
Robert
Not as long as Vexxton still exists!
The Agent looks around, and focuses on the stage. He starts towards it.
Robert (CONT'D)
I used to work here as a programmer, until I found out I was playing for the wrong team!
The Agent steps up onto the stage, gun ready.
Company Agent
You expect me to listen to that sob story? You said it yourself, you’re not an employee of Vexxton anymore. Just a thief and a terrorist!
Robert
No! I don’t want this business to hurt anymore people! I want to tell people the truth, to bring back rules!
Company Agent
Since you’re so passionate about rules, let me enlighten you on the philosophy of business.
The Agent STOPS. A shadow is being cast by the spotlight.
Company Agent (CONT’D)
Anything goes.
Robert moves toward the agent-
Who SMACKS him across the face with the gun.
An invisible Robert falls to the ground, his shadow still being cast by the spotlight.
LOW ANGLE ON – The Agent standing over him.
Company Agent
I know from experience.
The Agent drags Robert to a wall, takes off his coat, and PROPS him up.
Company Agent
Alright Mr. Drayton, what do you know about the program?
Robert
Nothing! I only saw the name! Is this all it takes for Vexxton to arrest someone?
The Agent raises his gun.
Company Agent
I never said anything about arresting you.
Robert’s eyes go wide.
Company Agent
This isn’t stepping out of line, just Company Policy.
Robert
No, wait-
INT. COMPUTER ROOM
Empty. One screen glows.
CLOSE UP ON – COMPUTER
It’s the computer Robert was on. A folder is open, with one item displayed.
INSERT – CRONOS PROGRAM
INT. AUDITORIUM
DUTCH ANGLE ON – A dead Robert. The Agent stands over him. He checks his pistol, and walks away.
CARD – ROBERT DRAYTON’S DEATH WAS OFFICIALLY RULED AS SUICIDE.
CARD – ROBERT DRAYTON’S DEATH WAS UNOFFICIALLY RULED AS MURDER.
CARD – VEXXTON STOCKS HAVE SINCE FALLEN BY 17%.

EARL'S NEW TURBINE...will be the size of a giant water tower seen in the midwest when it is completed. According to Harry Watts, SOCAL's foremost authority on coastal power sources, "it is going to be big, it is going to be tall, and it will make a loud whirling-type of noise that will slowly affect one's hearing if they do not wear ear muffs, but it is going to save the beachfront residents who subscribe to this power source thousands of dollars in utility bills." Earl stated that he wants the unit installed on a nearby cliff on his property so that it might be able to serve as a wind-gliding port and possibly add a waterslide that would put the sliders beyond the breaking surf. Asked by the TYME reporter if he had applied for any kind of permit for the amusement-theme, Earl pointed out that since it would be only for those who wanted to enjoy its fun, no permits should be required. "It will be the type of community water park that will support itself and help me to pay for several more adjacent beachfront lots within a short time," he stated.

Mark Smith, deputy to the commanding general of U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command, stopped by UofL’s computer engineering and computer science department Sept. 26 to discuss the creation of a new Army brigade to defend government and military networks from cyberterrorism. Smith is visiting 12 universities across the country to recruit 400 civilians with specialized computer skills into the brigade. UofL was the only Kentucky school on his itinerary.
