This year our Caladium tubers lay dormant for a particularly long time: up to June. But now they produced exceptionally large leaves.
934 sporting its new wrap - a common colour in Edinburgh nowadays, though less common than this time last year!

Lothian Buses Gemini 2 number 934 (SN09 CVV) ‘Murdo’ is seen here on Calder Road, operating a service 25 to Heriot-Watt.
Taken on Friday the 8th of August 2025.
I love how this batch are still in service with their blue and red interior wi monuments moquette. Now that the BZLs seem to be rapidly replacing the few remaining buses older than this batch, it’s likely the last chance to do much photographing of and travelling on these B9s.
Lothian Buses Wrightbus Eclipse Gemini 2 bodied Volvo B9TL number 934 (SN09 CVV) ‘Mario’ was new in July 2009 as part of the 926-936 batch. It now has quite a screechy aircon which I guess is a sign of its age.
Back in early 2014, this bus wore an orange overall wrap for the museum’s Mammoths of the Ice Age exhibition and became known as ‘Murdo’. The wrap was about the same colour as the one it wears now, but the old wrap went across the windows and made for quite and unpleasant experience inside. Thankfully the current wrap doesn’t obstruct the view other than the rear windaes.
The wrap is also quite appropriate for the bus, given that it’s likely to leave the fleet within the next few months or so, saying ciao to the city it’s called home for over sixteen years. Ciao Murdo!
The unofficial name ‘Murdo’ comes from when it had the museum mammoth wrap.
I do now have a web page of all the unofficial names I have given to Lothian Buses and Edinburgh Trams currently in the fleet, linked on my flickr page, it’s just on my ‘Info’ page. Feel free to have a look!
