Daily (nightly) experiences at Paddington station...
Passengers waiting for train, or train waiting for passengers? The train is cleaned and security-checked, but someone is still waiting for something to open doors for boarding. Perhaps it's a planned scientific test of passengers' patience?..
This is Walmart Supercenter # 4350 at 200 Old Fairgrounds Way in Kilmarnock, VA.
Despite opening in 2007, this store feels a smaller than a traditional Supercenter, and lacks a Tire Center. This is the only Walmart store in Virginia's Northern Neck.

FRAGILE, BROKEN, WET - Thanks Hermes.
I rarely get angry but I am today.
HERMES - "Messenger of the Gods with winged shoes"
The Hermes Courier dropped a parcel clearly marked "FRAGILE" over a locked rear gate. The gate is 2 metres high.
The parcel landed on the concrete patio slabs in the rain, bounced and did not survive the 2 metre drop.
What part of "FRAGILE" did the courier not understand?
It was also raining, so the parcel and contents were soaked.
The Hermes Courier politely told me on the card "Your parcel was delivered OVER THE GATE". Cheers Bud. Insult to injury springs to mind.
The highly coloured warning tape marked "FRAGILE" clearly was not legible or relevant to the Hermes courier.
I need a large coffee with lots of caffeine and several deep breaths.
Customer Service clearly not a high priority in this case.
Nothing left to go wrong on this one.
The situation is so incredibly stupid, deeply frustrating and time wasting for so many people to put it right, you have to laugh at it.
Life really is stranger than fiction.
UPDATE:-

I have been promised a refund by the seller. I hope they claim back from Hermes.

In an ordinary industrial building, there is a unique hidden gem of a private kitchen. The Hong Kong-style "local cuisine" here is different from typical restaurants as it is filled with the chef's passion and dedication for food. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to photograph them.
They cater to each customer's taste and prepare each dish to perfection. The deliciousness of the handmade dishes, such as the braised abalone with fish maw and the roasted pork, is simply indescribable. The restaurant owner and chef are both very talkative and humble, which made us feel the warmth and dedicated management of this restaurant even more.
After the photo shoot, the chef even specially prepared a vegetarian dish for me, which added an extra touch of human touch and made me love this restaurant even more.

Browsing through the LB website it's great to see the results of a survey carried out during the last quarter of 2013 which reveal that 96% of passengers were happy with the service provided by Lothian Buses.
Specific questions were asked about timetable punctuality, exterior condition of the vehicle, driver appearance and greeting when boarding, driver safety and personal security when travelling. In all aspects the results revealed that between 75% and 91% of those asked were happy with Lothian's performance.

I actually still take 'oldfashioned' notebook-notes at conferences & talks, because structuring & writing down blobs of what is said helps me pay attention (and stops me from constantly refreshing the Twitter hashtag feed). Occasionally, I even follow up on the 'paper works' and turn the most interesting takeaways into a blogpost. See the results on the Argus Labs blog.
It takes seconds to a lose a customer but it takes months to find a new customer. Hence customer satisfaction is very important for businesses to survive and grow.
I took this Photo of the Conrail Boxcar in July 1994 near the Whippany Railroad Museum in Whippany, New Jersey with my Minolta Maxxim 5000 35mm SLR Film Camera with Slide Film. I Scanned the Slide to create the Electronic Images presented here on the flickr™, using Photo Shop™ to improved the Exposure and Sharpness.
There was a Celebration on the last weekend in July at the Whippany Railroad Museum with several RDC & Steam Excursions during that weekend. I think it was celebrating Hanover Township Day. The Whippany Railroad Museum Water Tower is directly behind the Conrail Boxcar and a wooden chair is in front of it..
DISCLAIMER: I took this slide in 1994 while I was just learning Photography and therefore it was poor in Exposure, Composition and Sharpness.
Supra Boats @Supra_Boats is being recognized for outstanding customer satisfaction again this year with the 2013 Marine Industry CSI Award from NMMA.
The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) once again announced Supra Boats as a winner of the 2013 Marine Industry CSI Award. For 8 years in a row this luxury performance wake boat brand has achieved an excellent rating from the NMMA in customer satisfaction. Supra Boats was one of only three luxury water sports boat manufacturers who maintained 90% or higher customer satisfaction for the 2012/ 2013 reporting period and Supra is the only one of that exclusive group who has achieved this level of excellence for eight years consecutively. Supra Boats is extremely proud to be recognized for excellence in customer satisfaction, as part of NMMA’s Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) program.
Supra Boats was acknowledged during the annual Industry Breakfast at the 2013 International Boat Builders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX) in Louisville, Kentucky.
The Marine Industry CSI Awards program honors participating manufacturers that actively measure customer satisfaction and pursue continuous improvement to better serve the customer. Award recipients achieved and maintained an independently-measured standard of excellence of 90 percent or higher in customer satisfaction over the past year, based on information provided by customers purchasing a new boat during the period between April 1, 2012 and March 31, 2013. Participating manufacturers must survey all new boat buyers during this period. For this reporting period, the program surveyed more than 50,000 consumers.
“We are extremely proud to receive this award eight years in a row, but the real reward, for us, is the strong customer relationships and loyalty the Supra brand enjoys,” explains Rick Tinker, President of Supra Boats. “We build an amazing boat and have a great group in place who pride themselves in working as a team to serve the customer completely.”
“Customer satisfaction is critical to the success and growth of the recreational boating industry and its CSI award recipients that set the bar on delivering an exceptional customer experience,” notes Robert Newsome, director of engineering standards for NMMA. “We applaud and thank Supra Boats for their commitment to enhancing the boating lifestyle.”
NMMA launched its CSI program in 2001 to provide boat and engine manufacturers with an independently measured, cost-effective means of improving customer satisfaction in the boating industry. Since the program’s inception, more than 600,000 surveys have been sent out to new boat and engine customers, allowing participating manufacturers to monitor customer satisfaction on an ongoing basis, and to benchmark themselves against the industry and their competitors.
About NMMA: National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) is the leading association representing the recreational boating industry in North America. NMMA member companies produce more than 80 percent of the boats, engines, trailers, accessories and gear used by boaters and anglers throughout the U.S. and Canada. The association is dedicated to industry growth through programs in public policy advocacy, market statistics and research, product quality assurance and promotion of the boating lifestyle.
