Daily (nightly) experiences at Paddington station...
Passengers waiting for train, or train waiting for passengers? The train is cleaned and security-checked, but someone is still waiting for something to open doors for boarding. Perhaps it's a planned scientific test of passengers' patience?..
TGIF TBSS TGSD DJII - IMRAN™
Well, that all stands for Thank God It's Friday with a beautiful Tampa Bay Sunset Scene with my Terrific German Shepherd Dogs, as I took this drone portrait & selfie, DJI: IMRAN. Kennedy and K2 obliged by flanking me for for this Apollo Beach Tampa Bay Florida White House sunset aerial portrait.
It seems my 6 years old (though not terribly heavily used nor abused) DJI Phantom 4 Pro has developed some terribly serious sensor defect. Since this month, it basically covers the whole picture not even with black dots but long black streaks of pixels. They are like black ink drops streaking down a document.
In this case, you can clearly see them in places I could not be bothered to go clean them up. On the wall, on my blue shirt, and in almost every inch of the picture.
I have to decide if I will send this in for DJI to repair or just invest in a newer fancier drone. This one was quite rugged, but this sensor defect is apparently striking other users too.
I hope you all had a great week, my friends, and that things are looking up for all of you. I remain blessed, grateful, loved, and full of love for those whom I am blessed to be loved by in my life.

Truly NOT “An AHA! Moment” Or Experience - IMRAN™
I try to reduce my intake of my usual sugary poison, Pepsi, by trying alternative options. Most just disappoint, some can be interesting, but a few can be truly atrocious. The only diet drink I can tolerate is Diet Coke Vanilla, because the Pepsi version of that is almost impossible to get consistently at Publix or Winn-Dixie in Apollo Beach.
This alternate brand and flavor from Coca-Cola unfortunately falls in the definitely not an AHA moment experience category. I know it has no sodium and no sweeteners, but still, it tastes vile. Another variety of it with watermelon as the purported flavor was no better. Has anyone else tried it?
On a separate topic, I must say that I love how well the iPhone 13 Pro Max camera captured the tiny water droplets of condensation around the can even under my kitchen lighting.

Thought For Food: Kudos Delta Air For Restaurant Quality Inflight Meal 35,000’ Up In The Air En Route To JFK New York - IMRAN®
How have your air travel experiences changed over time? Here’s my story.
When I started flying as an unaccompanied 7-year old child in Pakistan, PIA, the national airline was a world class operation. Even 1.5 hour domestic economy flights included sumptuous meal service. Over the last 40 years, the majority of my flying has been in the United States. These days airline meals have transformed into so-called snacks — like crappy pretzels I would not even give to my dog.
I do have to give kudos to Delta for the fabulous quality of their in-flight meals. Mind you, this type of offering is in First Class, but even their economy snacks are far better than those of many other airlines.
This particular tender beef lunch on a recent flight to JFK was literally Manhattan-restaurant quality. Ironically, that’s where I was flying to for the weekend.

Destination Unknown Sequel: Legalized Torture: Skinny Seats For Fat Passengers - IMRAN™
I had my first flight as an unaccompanied child in Pakistan more than 50 years ago in the glory days of PIA. I was a cute chubby kid but even the economy seat on Boeing aircraft of that era could have seated nearly two of me.
Now, half a century later, even half of an average American adult has to squeeze into what airlines still insist on calling “seats”. My aviation fascination and passion for flying have not waned. But even as a not too fat or wide-ass adult the width of most airlines’ seats is nothing but legalized torture.
Having decently long legs I do appreciate the somewhat back-to-normal seat-to-seat distance you can see in this photo. But don’t be fooled. The extra space is because it is an exit-row seat. Next, look at the sexy svelte shape of the seat in front of me. Now imagine the typical person ahead of you at a grocery checkout or airline check-in line fitting in that. Exactly. Impossible.
Even more illustrative of the problem is the width of armrests which are also the separation between adjacent passengers. Today’s armrests are now literally *narrower* than two fingers width. It’s true. I’ve measured them and taken pictures too. I know what I’d like to do with those two fingers and where I’d like to shove my full arm. 😏😀
I would love to see the CEOs of Boeing, Delta, and the seat manufacturer try to sit in three adjacent seats for 3, much less 6 or 12, hours. Ideally they should sit for a three days long congressional inquiry — while being kept belted in those seats, together! 💺💺💺
What do you think? In the meantime, that vision of them unable to even squirm in their seats will make me smile as I enjoy my love of flying with gratitude. ✈️❤️🙏

Te answer to my previous shot - the cloud of butterflies concentrates to form an apple, and it becomes clear - we are looking at a promotional display for the launch of the Apple Watch. This is at Selfrdges in Oxford Street, but I haven't travelled recently to other major cities and don't know if it's a global campaign. (haven't even walked past other Apple stores in London lately...) Anyone seen it elsewhere?
Sorry Wrong Numbers™: The Way Apple Pricing & Trade-In Offers Work.... - IMRAN™
In full disclosure, I am a MacUser since 1984, and (mostly) love (most of) my Apple products. My day job is with Microsoft. But this tongue in cheek comment in the meme is based on reality. Apple did a good thing when it started offering trade-in offers to switch to newer model iPhones or even Apple Watch devices.
Then some beancounter just couldn't help it. They decided to find a way to screw loyal customers who had paid massive full prices for top of the line models with basically peanuts values on trade-in.
That is what made me comment that when Apple's next super-duper-I-don't-even-try-price-it maxed out Mac Pro comes out it may add up to $60,000 but a week later the beancounters there would maybe offer $60 in trade-in value for those. One hopes they learnt some embarrassing lessons from that whole recent episode and it does not happen this way.

Flood Of Meaningless Credit Alert 'Notifications' Worse Than Credit Card Offers & AOL Floppies - IMRAN™
Considering the many hacks of credit card and consumer identity databases over the last several years, I am obviously thankful to have credit alerts and notifications if or when some significant change or access to my credit report occurs.
I like that most major credit cards also throw in that service for free. I do not mind getting multiple alerts for something significant. But this is flood of absolutely useless credit alert notifications are beyond absurd, bordering on insane.
Here is Experian urgently and earnestly alerting me on Sunday afternoon that the credit usage on one of my credit cards decreased... by a massive orgasm-inducing reduction of.... $68. Sixty-Eight f(*&^ing Dollars reduction in the balance of a credit card that probably charges me18-24% blood-sucking interest on say $10,000... Let me do a backflip to celebrate!
This is an example of good intentions and bad thinking creating a UrUXSux experience.
What do you think of this flood of notifications, and every app and service -- and even web page --- on the planet shoving a "Let me irritate the $#!T out of you by allowing notifications" message in our faces?

Sorry Wrong Numbers™: Tampa Bay Times Charges More For Longer Term Subscriptions - IMRAN™
Call me old fashioned, but I always thought buying more or subscribing for longer terms meant paying less, not more. In this case, Tampa Bay Times charges $7 per month (so $42 for 6 months, half a year).... but wait, if you subscribe for the full six months with a single larger payment, they charge you more, $44.20!
That tags this as a post in two of my long running labels... "Sorry Wrong Number(s)" AND "Customer Experience User Experience Are Not Rocket Science". Share any examples of strange pricing you have seen too!

UrUXSux - Amazon Notifications Of Tyson Chicken Recall 2021 Received Today, TWO Years Later! - IMRAN™
**DANGER: Avoid Tyson Foods Especially From Amazon**
There are late notifications and then there are Amazon's version of Safety Recall Notifications of a somewhat urgent nature.... FOOD SAFETY RECALL.
I just got notifications, on 22 February, 2023, of TWO separate product recalls for Tyson Chicken,.... purchased TWO YEARS AGO, February 7, 2021 and February 28, 2021.
Even the date of the Tyson recall (July 5, 2021) is a scary FIVE months after the food was bought and consumed. But Amazon's notification is literally 2 YEARS late. How exactly are these matters handled by such companies and the FDA and other regulators?

Does Amazon Now Use Donkey Carts Or Hikers For Deliveries? - IMRAN™
I know how terrible traffic can sometimes be on Long Island, but not like this. This is all Amazon.
Something due for delivery to me yesterday (Monday) evening is still on the way. It apparently takes Amazon ~12 hours to get something from its own Staten Island, NY facility to one in Shirley, NY just about 60-miles away.
Does the supply chain now have donkey carts involved too? 😀 Meanwhile Alexa is telling me it’s due to be delivered to me on Thursday!
Four days. So maybe even the pony express isn’t being used. This pace is like having mountain climbers or hikers making home deliveries. 😀

I am working on a project for my business class about Wal-mart and how big stores are good. I am taking the slant that Wal-mart is trying to be socially responsible and has good business ethics. I am also going to be aiming at proving that they are paying their shareholders less because of their trying to ‘go green.’

This comment by Neil Perkin is a great reminder that we shouldn’t start believing that our own – simplified – views and models actually represent the customer’s reality. The best we can do is approximate this reality. That is why we need to always make sure that the processes and models we build around our customer interactions allow enough flexibility for the people in our organisation to do what is *really* needed.
