Bison burger ($9) served medium rare (as requested) on a Steam Whistle whole wheat bun, and sandwiched between shredded lettuce, tomato pickles and sauteed mushrooms ($2 extra). One can add extras like cheese ($2), or foie gras/truffle salsa ($9), but I didn't feel that gluttonous nor rich. ;) The burger itself was nicely composed - a 1:1:1:1 bun to patty to topping to cap ratio. Even more impressive was the fact that the burger stayed in one piece with each bite. The was no slipping nor sliding. Serious skill.
Also on the plate was an order of the russet and Yukon gold fries ($4) that was served with this loose tomato sauce like ketchup - it was spiced like it too with herbs, etc. - and a sweet, almost creamy house gravy ($1) that is made from a port reduction.
Although some might compare this burger combo to mid-range chains or complain that it's priced above that of casual eateries, the amount of care, the attempt to make everything from scratch and healthful really makes me want to support these guys more. Obviously with things like the Ontario pork patty (with hazelnuts, sage, roasted garlic whipped goat cheese + sour cherry/pear relish ($10)) or the black truffle and cranberry infused turkey burger ($10) on the menu, it's hard not to want to come back and try it all.
Is it a burger sent from heaven, I don't think so. Is it well constructed and does Grindhouse hit it's objective? Yes.

This lovely girl came to my as a Playful Randrops Blythe and look at the cherub she has become! She was already loved and her name is Poppy Popcorn. She got the usual work with a fun pop corn design on her eyelids since her mom sent her pop corn themed pullcharms. She has a sister waiting for her turn and after her sister's surgery they will both travel to her mom in California! I hope you like her!

Since the tub is aluminum, the factory bushings don't attach the same way in all the places. Had to recess the bolt heads. Regrettably I sold my lathe but I managed to make do.
