Transfăgăraşan pass, a paved mountain road crossing the southern Carpathians of Romania. It was build in the 1970s by the communist regime and still connects the historic regions of Transylvania and Wallachia.
Something I just learned from Wikipedia:
The Transfăgărășan was constructed between 1970 and 1974 during the rule of Nicolae Ceaușescu as a response to the 1968 invasion of Czechoslovakia by the Soviet Union. Ceaușescu wanted to ensure quick military access across the mountains in case of a Soviet invasion.
This was taken at the 28th Street Metro Cruise in Grand Rapids, last year.

Two ducks passing by, silently, serenely – on their way somewhere or just cruising along?

A Northern Harrier cruising across the grasslands with a look of determination on her face. This is another image taken on a recent outing for Northern Harriers in Central, NJ. I have yet to capture a good image of a grey ghost, and I hope to achieve that goal this winter season. View large for best details.
The weekend is here! Thanks for stopping by~!
