They were not for the weak-minded.

They were a mob of tenacious, overbearing, incredibly loud, stubborn, four-legged terrorists, obstinate, robust, highly spirited riot of dogs, and we loved them - The Motley Crew...

Turkey Vultures seem to have a "world weary" expression, as if they have seen it all, and there's nothing that can surprise them.

They truly are nature's clean-up crew, and when there is a group circling overhead, it's a good sign there's been a kill.

I read some time ago that in Africa, poachers kill vultures, as they would provide clues to the game wardens that there had been an illegal kill, and that's how they were finding the poachers. The kill of the vultures obviously created a lot of problems, as they are such an important part of the ecosystem.

Definition: Motley, varied in size, color, appearance and disposition. If Rusty, Cookie, Flipper and Kitty are not a Motley Crew I don't know what is. the old photographer HSoS. Motley crew was an American heavy metal band in the eighties. Kinda like Kiss.

After the extra CP G13 passed overhead as seen here: flic.kr/p/2nnyzJq the sun came out as the 9 AM Waterville Relief crew on PAR train NMWA-13 was wrapping up the air test and getting ready to start west with their 4261 ft long train of 59 loads and 4 empties behind a GP40-2LW, GP40, C40-8 combo. A trio of Burlington Northern EMD SD70MACs begin to pull as they depart Edgemont, South Dakota, with a loaded coal train on the afternoon of July 5, 1996. Afternoon clouds are building in the heat of the day, signaling a possibility of afternoon thunderstorms.

The introduction of new ways to decorate an avatar is a surefire way to guarantee that I'll have a new character on the roster. Meet the newest addition to the crew, Tanith Langdon. A flippant little reptilian mutant who keeps to Zaun's shadows... not for any spooky reason. I swear.

Oh No, Bees! Metropolitan Transportation Authority - MTA NYCT Subway R-68/R-68As layover for the weekend and longer, as seen at sunset on Saturday, January 8, 2022. The B Line was temporarily suspended due to crew shortages, leading to a large number of them sitting in Concourse Yard in the Bronx, New York. This facility also services the D Line, which can and will use these cars in rotation, but it's fun to see 6 Bs in a row as long as you are not allergic. The flyover track leads to the IRT Jerome Avenue Line, and the Kingsbridge Armory is in the background.

A quick trip to Fellows Lake between bouts of rain and thunderstorms yielded crew of Black vultures. There were either two carcasses or one that had been partially 'relocated.' This portion was in the 'weeds.' The rolling red truck didn't seem to bother this guy or the crew in the road.

Its the first day of Canadian Pacific operations on the Central Maine & Quebec, and the inaugural run of CP 251 awaits a Canadian crew to take the train west out of Jackman, ME. At the time the fate of the iconic CMQ barns was up in the air, with retirement being the likely verdict. However, the engines continue to serve Canadian Pacific.

I had a great night last night with Komeg and a bunch of cool folks doing an LP workshop in Chee Tor tunnel. This was for Redeye Manchester for whom we did a talk last year and they approached us to do a practical.

I grabbed this just before midnight as I hadn't got my shot for the day.

Everyone went home happy and fingers crossed those who attended continue to wave those lights around.

Happy days.
