Someone's put together this rather creepy scene on the Black River parallel to the M5 Black River Parkway in Cape Town just before the Rondebosch exit. A cloaked figure sits motionless in a small skiff, while empty plastic bottles attached to branches of a dead tree flail in the wind. Could it be Charon the ferryman of Hades? First spotted on Tuesday 12 February 2013.

The current theory, put forward by Dr Kevin Winter, is that the artwork has something to do with the Black River recently becoming cleaner.
