I love it how we get to focus on storytelling in this semester. I over think a lot and every time that happens, I usually wrote down my thoughts and feelings and somehow created a story based on my experience with it. I would say creative writing is my strength because there are lots of random things in my head and I would love to turn it into a blog, a podcast or to direct a movie.

Wish You Were Here was an English PEN pilot project in partnership with Islington Word2012 festival. Letters were sent from students in a London school to young people of similar ages in a school in Freetown, Sierra Leone. We commissioned photographs of the letters once they’d arrived in the hands of their recipients. The project celebrated global citizenship through creative writing, encouraging an exchange of ideas through literature.

And there I was, enjoying a frothy cappuccino in one of the many over-priced cafes on the Campo dei Fiori piazza, when suddenly I hear what sounds like a ton of bricks falling from the sky. I turn to see four market cleaners/garbage men (who hose down the daily market in the afternoon when it closes) waving their arms around and yelling at each other. I lean forward, squint a little, and then realize they're standing around a hole that suddenly opened up in the middle of the market. After an hour of animated arm-waving and lip-flapping, including the addition of a few members of the police, this was their solution.
