Continuous movement into portrait experimentation using the LIFX lighting system. Paige is wearing the latest sweepings from my studio floor.

Black wings with a touch of gold. White roses like a halo. The makeup is bright and precise, like a promise written on skin.

She is sensual. She is sure. Sure she can be an ambassador. Sure she can give safety. Sure she can give peace.

The dreams gone

Faded fires, moving on

A sugar skull is never only about death. It is also about memory, ornament, pride, and the stubborn grace of being seen. Letizia held all of that in one gaze at Villa Lora. Color against shadow. Flowers against bone. A portrait that stands very still and says enough.

I can't explain how tired I am and that I should be in bed by now; But there are a few photos from this set that I like. I had time to play with this one, hopefully tomorrow I'll post the rest.

I seem to remember when I was younger collecting weird clothing from my travels that I never wore. Hide them in my closet like it's a time capsule, to only bring them out now when I want to play dress up in front of my camera.

*Random thought - I can't listen to a full album of certain artists. My stereo can hold 50 cds and the player is always on random. Change the sound, change the voice, make my mood shift from song to song. I like that.

This portrait came from the Nordic Awards in Helsinki, where craft and imagination met in one quiet frame. The gold shape, the shimmer around the eyes, the pearls, the flowers. Each part felt precise, but together they became something softer and stranger. A portrait like a dream that decided to stay still.

One thing Wallmart is good for is you can get a lot of something for cheap. For example. Paint brushes. Here used as a wig? Combine that with the punkfunk of Mick Boisvert and we got ourselves some fun!

Valeriia at Creative Jam in Vipiteno. An angel carved from ice.

Her breath slips into the air and finds the back of your neck first: a quiet warning.

Lace blooms across her brow, silver horns rise like glacier ridges, and dark tears split the white like fractures in ice.

Whatever she reaches for goes still: Beautiful, silent, perfectly frozen.

My inaugural session with the incredibly talented singer Alanna Sterling. While I continue to experiment with the LIFX lighting system I'm discovering more and more interesting lighting combinations.

If your in the Toronto area and you get a chance to check out one of her shows I highly recommend it.

After my Ancient Cray Portrait series, which used 96 crushed up crayons, I was left with the wrapper for those crayons. Why not make a mask out of them I thought to myself.

Another no planning portrait session using left overs from the studio floor.

Katherine brings the style in this not so subtle face paint portrait session. Make-up by me, hair by wig.

She looked straight through the dark.

The feathers crossed the frame like smoke.

The red burned deep.

For a moment, the makeup felt older than the room, older than the stage, older than us.

Music is an extraordinary locksmith; it is so competent that it can open our soul's door even with closed eyes!

The exquisite fusion of human form and vibrant pigments, revealing a stunning masterpiece that transcends traditional boundaries of art and fashion.

Took me forever to find a way to carefully control smash marbles here. Finally figured it out by heating them up in an oven on high for a while then using a vice to crush them. Painting Rose was the easiest part, all she did was lay down on the floor for an hour while I painted streaks on her
