Neovoxer: Ofadamaual and Violette - The Blood of God

Vibrant theatricality spills onto the red-tiled sidewalk as two street performers prepare for their act, their elaborate costumes creating a striking contrast against the weathered facade of an urban Argentine building. The central figure commands attention, completely enveloped in a multifarious azure ensemble that blends painted skin, textured fabrics, and intricate lace detailing into a mesmerizing, otherworldly character. With focused intensity, she adjusts a piece of sheer blue material, her hands stained with the same pigment that coats her elaborate headpiece and form-fitting suit. Beside her, a second performer rests barefoot on the pavement, clad in earthy, distressed brown garments that mimic the texture of worn leather or mud, offering a grounding counterpoint to her companion's aquatic brilliance. A young girl sits on the right, her gaze fixed intently on the blue performer's preparations, embodying the quiet fascination that street art evokes in passersby. The girl leans against a large, bright blue spherical prop draped with a crumpled brown cloth, visually bridging the color palettes of the two artists. New graffiti laws in New York now make it illegal for anyone under 21 to buy or possess spray paint, broad tip markers and etching acid. Commercial property owners and apartment complexes will be responsible for removing graffiti or fined.

 

Street art needs to exist and no matter what laws you create there's still a need (like breathing) for people to express themselves publicly and that's never going to change.

The Old Royal Naval College and Elstree Studios have made history, setting a new Guinness World Records™ title for the largest gathering of people dressed as film and TV characters. On Saturday 27th September, the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Greenwich was transformed into a dazzling real-life movie set as 874 fans arrived dressed as 45 iconic screen characters – from Queen Charlotte and Jack Sparrow to Luke Skywalker, Batman and Indiana Jones.

Spring comes to the Saatchi Gallery with the Flowers - Flora In Contemporary Art & Culture exhibition. Over nine major gallery spaces, there are large-scale installations, original artworks, photography, fashion and many more. Opening on 12th February till 5th May 2025.

 

Fantastic art and well worth a visit.
