Portland's own Ooligan Press is taking part in the self-described "Sustainable Publishing Revolution" with their series OpenBook. Lots of good thoughts in this book about how printed published matter can have a light impact on the environment.

This image captures a detailed close-up of the unique façade of Casa Batlló, designed by Antoni Gaudí, located in Barcelona, Spain. The intricate architecture features organic shapes and natural forms, along with vibrant stained glass windows that reflect light and color. This masterpiece of modernist architecture is known for its skeletal balconies and flowing stonework, embodying Gaudí’s innovative approach to design. Casa Batlló is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a prime example of the Modernisme movement in Catalonia.

Lovely Sweet William is the product of two sisters, one from New Zealand and one from Australia, who, despite the distance, still make the effort to bring their love of all things handmade together. Being 100% recycled, Scout Books fit in perfectly with their credo. They also have some really beautiful art prints and the most adorable mini dolls that live in matchbox houses! So cute.

Luke Ramsey is awesome. He creates beautiful, intricate pieces of artwork that include zines, murals, paintings and prints. He also runs Islands Fold, an independent publisher and artist residency in B.C., Canada.
We ran into Luke last summer at the Portland Zine Symposium, and saw him sketching in a Scout Book! Quickly gave him another, and within weeks he had filled it up and sent us images. At long last, here is what the fantastic Luke Ramsey did with the 32 grid pages of a Scout Book.

Chad Kouri loves paper. I might go so far as to call him The Collage Master. His work incorporates vintage ephemera, letterpress printing and found objects, which makes for a body of work that is at once tangible, nostalgic and visually spectacular. "Scott Thomas is constantly trying to invent the next big thing." From the looks of it, he's doing quite a job.
Scott Thomas is a designer, an inventor, a thinker and an innovator. He counts President Obama among his clients, and served as Design Director for the Obama campaign. Scott recently curated and edited a book called Designing Obama, a publication that documents the presidential campaign's use of art, design and a grassroots approach to publicity and propaganda. Rad.
Scott filled this Scout Book with sketches for that next big thing he's working on. I'm thoroughly impressed with his planning and plotting.
