Laura Macchia is a New York-based designer who offers a myriad of eco-friendly paper goods and wedding invitations as well as custom design services. As a lover of the outdoors, much of her work is inspired by nature and infused with lots of pattern and color. If you don't find yourself in New York sometime soon, you are in luck, she has an Etsy shop where she sells all her wonderful goodies online!

Yesterday Hannah was struck by an idea and ten minutes later, BOOM! We had the Scout Book mini.
CUTE, right?
This little guy is still in the development stage, but we're working to roll it out as a micro publishing format soon.

We printed this Obi Strip for Shelflife Record's newest release, The Imperial Life by Horse Shoes. Album artwork is by Alex Roulette, who makes amazing paintings.
If we didn't already live in Portland, we're positive these Travel Portland Scout Books would make us want to visit. The talented Amy Ruppel created this two-toned illustrative representation of our fair city: big deer statues, Mt. Hood, evergreen trees galore.

Our latest Designer Highlight features Chad Doane of Doane Paper!

Cap height, ascender, bowl, serif, baseline: there are a lot of things to keep track of when designing letterforms! The Type Sketcher trio of pocket notebooks helps you stay on track as you design. This set features one book for uppercase, one book for lowercase, and one book for numerals, punctuation and symbols. Each book comes with a brief but informative guide to the basics of type design that serve as gentle guides for beginners and helpful reminders for seasoned type designers.
This trio of pocket tools was developed in partnership with Ian Lynam, in hopes that type designers everywhere keep sketching!
Mia Christopher sent us three Scout Books brimming with juicy, colorful stuff. She brightened our week, and we hope that checking out this series of expertly experimental illustration has brightened yours. This Scout Book is the third in a series of three; be sure to see the first and second.

This image showcases La Pedrera, also known as Casa Milà, an architectural masterpiece designed by Antoni Gaudí in Barcelona, Spain. The unique façade features undulating stone walls and wrought iron balconies that create an organic flow. The building’s rooftop, visible through the foreground arch, is adorned with sculptural chimneys and whimsical shapes, symbolizing Gaudí’s artistic vision and creativity. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, La Pedrera remains one of the most iconic examples of Catalan Modernisme and a must-see for architecture enthusiasts visiting Barcelona.
Will Bryant is a freelance creative at Public School living in Austin, TX. He created this fantastic book and we are so thrilled to be able to offer it in our shop! Every inch of this book's cover is filled with Will's illustration and the blank interior is just waiting to be filled by you!
Will Bryant is a graphic designer and illustrator extraordinaire! Based in Austin, Texas, Will makes things because he gets sad if he doesn't. His work is playful, fun, and always bright. He filled up a DIY Scout Book (Cover included!) in ONE DAY. Seriously. One day. A study in patterns. Sweet!

Vance Reeser makes animated films, creates images, crafts websites, and writes a blog. He so expertly filled up this Scout Book with some amazing character sketches–and a collage treat at the end. Not to mention the first time we've ever seen the Scout Book used as a mask! Bravo, bravo Vance! Great innovation. Great sketches.
Find Vance's work here, on his website. One project we're particularly intrigued by is a short animated film Vance is creating called the Beast of Black Lake. He used Kickstarter to fund the project but is still accepting backers to help propel the project towards completion.
We're pretty sure we'll be seeing loads of great stuff from Vance in the near future.
Ana Benaroya rocks the color and texture in this Scout Book! Her design and illustration work is just as lively and refreshing as these sketches suggest. Check her out!

Are you guys ready for a pocket-sized Constitution?!
New Belgium Brewery is on tour this summer with 20 short films created by their fans to spread “beer musings and filmed enlightenment.” It’s called the Clips of Faith Beer and Film Tour with all the proceeds going towards an organization in the host city. Pretty cool, huh? Even cooler, they enlisted our notebook-making expertise to help them create special Scout Books for their beer-tasting needs.
This cabinet presents a diverse collection of small accessories for tools, including bits, jigsaw blades, nut drivers and bit drivers to organize them for easier selection and to prevent spillage.
Travel Portland is such a great resource for lots of interesting stuff to do when visiting Portland. Check out their website to find the latest attractions and new, fun events going on around the beautiful Rose City. This book was designed by Amy Ruppel, go figure, it's just so much fun to look at! It's also a great example of using two colors on a Scout Book! So, so great!
Brian Eyler is a recent graphic design graduate from the Art Institute. His business cards feature some lovely rounded corners and some words of wisdom from the great Milton Glaser. Another cool feature? 100% recycled paper.

The University Bookstore in Seattle, Washington, is celebrating its 110th year of business with this commemorative book.
The book consists of 110 original 110-word compositions by authors in the University Bookstore "family." Celebrate the launch of the book and the 100th birthday of the bookstore this Sunday, January 10, 2010.
