llustrator and designer, Ben Weiland, made these great Scout Books for 2011. They feature some of his great illustration work and a nice little spot on the back to be filled in with a note and the name of some lucky recipient. Scout Books make such great gifts, fun to give and receive.

Jesse Hora is an art director, an illustrator and an Michigan native. He filled these Scout Books with fun, funky sketches and smart illustrations. A super sweet ongoing illustration project of his is Athlete Objects, in which he creates his interpretations of 1980s and 1990s athletes based off of their names, his childhood memories, and their Wikipedia entries. Pretty fresh!

These pocket notebooks were created by Pilot to be used as giveaways and note taking tools for a workshop they held with a client. Pilot's plan is to create a series of Scout Books – one for each workshop as they continue to hold them. The bold illustration style used on this Scout Book translates really well on the chipboard.

These beautiful Scout Books feature illustrations of New York City's skyline from four different vantage points.

Tara Hogan designed this terrific folded poster for CNY Yoga Center. I'm thoroughly impressed with the many functions this one print project serves: it's a mailer, an informational brochure, a membership form, a calendar, and a lovely poster with great illustration. Nice job, Tara!

Jam band, anyone?

The prolific band Phish used the Scout Books during their North American tour last summer as swag for their fans–ahem, PHANS. With strikingly bold typography, these notebooks lay out a few Phish lyrics.

Java City was founded in Sacramento, CA in 1985 and has grown to be a hand-crafted, specialty coffee roaster, retailer and wholesaler. Because Java City only hand roasts responsibly sourced coffee, the 100% recycled Scout Book is a perfect reflection of the brands ideals. Java City's designer, Amber Witzke, created this Outside the Box Scout Book to be sold as a distinctive, fun and affordable product in their merchandise line-up at their cafes

Shadow work. I wanted to create a graphic piece based on the shadows of my legs. This is the result

Vance Reeser makes animated films, creates images, crafts websites, and writes a blog. He so expertly filled up this Scout Book with some amazing character sketches–and a collage treat at the end. Not to mention the first time we've ever seen the Scout Book used as a mask! Bravo, bravo Vance! Great innovation. Great sketches.

Find Vance's work here, on his website. One project we're particularly intrigued by is a short animated film Vance is creating called the Beast of Black Lake. He used Kickstarter to fund the project but is still accepting backers to help propel the project towards completion.

We're pretty sure we'll be seeing loads of great stuff from Vance in the near future.

Scout Book is pleased to have been a sponsor of Mount Hood Community College's Integrated Media Program's end-of-the-year portfolio review that took place at Nemo Design HQ back in June.

The MHCC students created this fabulous Scout Book that is one of our favorite examples of a creative use for a custom interior.

The interior pages featured photographs, contact information and room for notes on each recent graduate. These Scout Book put the faces of the participants in the hands of their future employers, collaborators and peers. What a good idea!

This great Scout Book project comes to us from the people over at Aha! agency in celebration of their fourth anniversary. Located in Austin, TX, they specialize in branding + fresh perspectives and wanted to give their clients, friends, and fans a special kind of thank-you for their support. I think this Scout Book is perfect for the job! Printed in orange and brown, complete with a belly band (you know we love a good belly band) and custom interiors – turning four in 2010 never looked better!

Rod Hunting is a designer and illustrator with some seriously stunning work in his portfolio. His delicate drawings are at once sophisticated and crafty; they're slick yet ooze evidence of the artist's hand at work. Peep his portfolio and get lost in lovely illustration.

Also, while you're at it, check out his installation of vintage camera drawings. It makes the analog nerds around here quite happy.

Rod filled his Scout Book with space-y pencil illustrations. Rod! I mean, Rad!
