An authentic Irish neighborhood pub, Jordan’s creates a true “public house” atmosphere for gatherings, socializing, and enjoying great food and drink.
PROJECT: The challenge was to design a graphic standards framework that would unify all of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra’s (CSO) marketing materials. This broad spectrum of pieces included posters, brochures, and mailers.
DESCRIPTION: As the region’s only full-time professional orchestra, the CSO embraces a tradition of musical excellence by presenting a wide variety of symphonic performances—from classical repertoire to innovative new forms.

“Leylines” has been appropriated and employed as both a practical and as a conceptual strategy to inquiry into places and localities. Site visits and sensitive dialogues with the other artists at a number of locations have further brought materials and processes into the creative realm. The spatial practice of setting-up this work has also produced insightful local knowledge from those dwelling nearby.

Clay, Hessian, drawings and transparencies from architectural openings, drawing frame, antique glass, lead and nylon lines.
This intervention into a listed building has become a temporary refuge for a work in progress. The work attempts to show a creative agency as it encounters a host of installed hierarchies and conditions. The architectural motif on the drawings has been derived directly from the open apertures of the chamber, and these drawings also reference the supportive ironwork (Ferramenta) which has been playfully re-registered as a graphic leyline . A drawing frame similar to that used in archaeology for drawing has been adapted to illustrate the relative positions of the leyline as registered by the ordnance survey grid, both terminuses being labelled on the frames periphery.
Artist’s Book: white and coloured pages, card covers with cyanotype of Winchester Cathedral.
A hand bound book comprising of five signatures each with four folios. This book contains a collection of postcards made from contact prints and photograms from Tidbury Ring using the cyanotype process. Other pages contain some cyanotype paintings/abstracts around the theme of dwelling and hut. Silver gelatin images of St Catherine’s Hill are present as are some experimental pinhole photography.
pataphysics
'Pataphysics, a term coined by the French writer Alfred Jarry, is a philosophy dedicated to studying what lies beyond the realm of metaphysics. It is a parody of the theory and methods of modern science and is often expressed in nonsensical language. A practitioner of 'pataphysics is a 'pataphysician or a 'pataphysicist.
'Pataphysics is also defined by Jarry as the "science of imaginary solutions."
According to Jarry, the apostrophe (') is always added before the word to avoid a pun in French.
(The exact pun to be avoided is the subject of some debate. The debate itself -- being, in essense, a debate about a subject which may not truly exist, but exist as another joke by Jarry -- might itself be considered a 'pataphysical search, for an "imaginary solution" to an imaginary problem!)
Because string theory is speculation based on ideas that are themselves speculative (i.e., theories of general relativity and quantum mechanics), string theory is not in fact physics, but 'pataphysics.
Likewise, string theory and quantum calculations are, increasingly, not descriptive of an actual reality, but are simply mathematical pataphors. (P. Lopez) See also pataphor.

The primary mark for the Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club, a NationalHockey League team.
Formerly the Quebec Nordiques, the franchise moved to Denver where it was renamed the Colorado Avalanche. A highly publicized national campaign generated much anticipation of the re-d esign of the logo. Ranked as one of the top selling team logos in NHL history, the Avalanche would win the Stanley Cup in their first season after the move, and add another in the 2001 playoffs.

This year is the 20th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act and AIGA Colorado is celebrating it with this year's Giving Voice Poster Project. It is a collaboration between AIGA Colorado, VSA Arts of Colorado/Access Gallery and the partnership with Colorado Cross Disability Coalition.

Established in 2006, McCabe’s is a traditional, old world Irish pub located in Denver, Colorado.
Two interactive components show the impact and importance of everyday water conservation. A series of before and after photos that follow the course of the Colorado River are synchronized to light up in unison with fiber optics, showing the depleation of water.
A large scale exhibit that highlights before and after effects that dams and aqueducts have on the Colorado River.

Inspired by it’s beauty and diversity, this exhibit followed the path of a family that was exploring Australia for the first time. A journal that recorded their findings would serve as wayfinding signage, leading the visitor through various interactive exhibits and tanks.
This exhibit would have featured fish, plants, and animals, all native to Australia.
What Lurks Beneath exhibit puts visitors under the dock and just below the water’s surface to observe how human action affects various aspects of sea life.
This exhibit features five habitats, which contain discarded items such as cans, bottles, fishing poles, lobster traps, car tires, and even a toilet.

PROJECT: The challenge was to create a season ticket brochure for the Colorado Avalanche before the team had a name, uniform, or logo. Ascent Entertainment had purchased the Quebec Nordiques and was in the process of moving them to Denver, Colorado, during the design of this brochure.
DESCRIPTION: The goal of this unique piece was to generate anticipation around the excitement of a Canadian NHL team moving to Colorado. A little known fact: The Colorado Avalanche were almost named “The Extreme,” which was used in the headline of the brochure.
