The Halle en Bois (Wooden Hall) in the village of Lesmont, Aube, Champagne Region, France is a mid-19th-Century, multi-purpose civic meeting place, festival venue, market hall and car park. Entirely wooden, it measures 27 metres (88 feet) long and 10 metres (33 feet) high.

Depuis 1831, le Marché couvert de Metz est une halle marchande, avec comme voisine directe de la cathédrale Saint-Étienne. A l'origine, ce magnifique bâtiment était un palais épiscopal.
Since 1831, the Metz covered market is a merchant hall, with a direct neighbor of the Saint-Etienne cathedral. Originally, this magnificent building was an episcopal palace.

One of the oldest - and largest - markets in the world, the core of the grand bazaar dates from the mid-15th century, and has expanded since to host 4000 shops across 61 avenues, covering almost 31,000 square metres in total. It is visited by over a quarter of a million people every day.

The covered market is one of the main symbols of Montreux and was built between 1891 and 1892. Its metal structure is reminiscent of the famous Victor Baltard Halles in Paris and came from the same workshop that supplied Gustave Eiffel with the materials for his tower.

This is a picture of the beautiful ceiling at Leadenhall Market in the City of London. It is one of the oldest markets in London, dating from the 14th century.
