blue tits - master of acrobatics

I suppose trainees would jump through this tire, climb over the wooden wall, run up and over that ramp, and climb across the suspended lines at the top of the image.

I have not seen anyone using this. I have not found any information about this on the Sunnyvale Baylands Park website.

Update details: a City employee had told me this was called the "ropes course" some years ago but it is not in use.

Off course in Miami you have BIG buildings

Miami is partitioned into many different sections, roughly into North, South, West and Downtown. The heart of the city is Downtown Miamiand is technically on the eastern side of the city. This area includesBrickell, Virginia Key, Watson Island, and PortMiami. Downtown is South Florida's central business district, and Florida's largest and most influential central business district. Downtown has the largest concentration of international banks in the U.S. along Brickell Avenue. Downtown is home to many major banks, courthouses, financial headquarters, cultural and tourist attractions, schools, parks and a large residential population. East of Downtown, across Biscayne Bay isSouth Beach. Just northwest of Downtown, is the Civic Center, which is Miami's center for hospitals, research institutes and biotechnology with hospitals such as Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami VA Hospital, and theUniversity of Miami's Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine.

The southern side of Miami includes Coral Way, The Roads and Coconut Grove. Coral Way is a historic residential neighborhood built in 1922 connecting Downtown with Coral Gables, and is home to many old homes and tree-lined streets. Coconut Grove was established in 1825 and is the location of Miami's City Hall in Dinner Key, theCoconut Grove Playhouse, CocoWalk, many nightclubs, bars, restaurants and bohemian shops, and as such, is very popular with local college students. It is a historic neighborhood with narrow, winding roads, and a heavy tree canopy. Coconut Grove has many parks and gardens such as Villa Vizcaya, The Kampong, The Barnacle Historic State Park, and is the home of the Coconut Grove Convention Center and numerous historic homes and estates.

The western side of Miami includes Little Havana, West Flagler, and Flagami, and is home to many of the city's traditionally immigrant neighborhoods. Although at one time a mostly Jewish neighborhood, today western Miami is home to immigrants from mostly Central America and Cuba, while the west central neighborhood of Allapattah is a multicultural community of many ethnicities.

The northern side of Miami includes Midtown, a district with a great mix of diversity with many West Indians,Hispanics, European Americans, bohemians, and artists. Edgewater, and Wynwood, are neighborhoods of Midtown and are made up mostly of high-rise residential towers and are home to the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. The wealthier residents usually live in the northeastern part, in Midtown, the Design District, and the Upper East Side, with many sought after 1920s homes and home of the MiMo Historic District, a style of architecture originated in Miami in the 1950s. The northern side of Miami, also has notable African American and Caribbean immigrant communities such as Little Haiti, Overtown (home of the Lyric Theater), and Liberty City.

View from the club house at the Yugawara Country Club (yugawara-cc.com) in Yugawara (湯河原), Japan. And no, I wasn't playing, otherwise I would still be there now searching for lost balls.

I had special permission to visit the club house and take some photos in this spectacular location. It had been raining all morning, so this break in the clouds was very fortuitous!

When I visit other people's streams, I like to leave encouraging comments or respectful critique. I never leave images, logos or text based decorations in my comments. I'd really appreciate it if you could do the same for me. Thank you!

. . . Some ornaments mean more than others on the tree! My daughter knows that fishing is something I enjoy doing, so last year she made me a set of lures inside glass bulbs! Fishing stuff on the tree, well of course!

Have a great Christmas week Flickr and Facebook friends!

This is an experiment on editing color. Today I am going to do a course on Elements, hope it will rub off as I feel I lag a lot of knowledge there.

I am one of these city girls who takes the car for every thing, so I can only dream of cycling, but this is also due to extreme workpressure.

No, the two boats didn't hit each other, but they sure looked like they might for a few seconds! The larger vessel was moving much more slowly, but as you can see from the spray coming up from the vessel in the foreground, it was really hauling through the inlet headed out to sea.

This shot was taken at Ponce Inlet. You can see the jetty and the fishing pier on the left. this is the actual inlet area where the Halifax River meets the Atlantic Ocean. Across the inlet lies New Smyrna Beach, the city just south of the Greater Daytona Beach area. Ponce Inlet is the most southern part of our beach side, and one of the prettiest parts of it. Known for fishing and surfing, the two don't always mix well, as the fishing draws sharks. The larger waves here draw the surfers, so it's easy to see why this area, and New Smyrna, also, is one of the most notorious places for shark attacks in the state of Florida.

One of my friends was a lifeguard when he was young, and was bitten on the heel as he paddled on his board! Now that Katherine, the 14' Great White Shark has been frequenting our waters, you won't catch me in them! I sometimes miss the ignorance of childhood, when I never thought about such things, but they are a reality here.

Nevertheless, Ponce Inlet will remain a favorite spot for locals and tourists alike because of its beauty.

The sky was rather flat that day, and the colors were so-so. I enhanced the sky with a cloud texture and added a touch of color to the horizon line for interest. The original, as always, is below.
