These petrol ration coupons belonged to my Dad.
Petrol rationing was introduced on 16th September 1939 and finished in May 1950. So that would be why these coupons never got used.
There was also about 5 months of fuel rationing during the Suez Crisis of 1956/1957.
I remember receiving petrol ration coupons during 1973, but they were not required in the end.

Pictured here are food coupon store exchange artifacts. Cash change was not given for food coupon purchases. Instead grocers provided change chits and scrip of their own design, which the beneficiary could use for the next purchase.
i don't like games of chance and i don't play them.
i don't mean games like monopoly or poker or games with random elements and a heavy skill component. i actually quite like those.
but games of pure chance like raffles or lotteries? loathsome.
in fact, i once turned down a television that i won in a raffle. maybe i'm stupid, but that's how loathesome i find the concept.

I had a $10 Rewards coupon for Staples that expired on April 30th. Not wanting to waste it, I went to Staples on the 29th to find something to spend it on. They were out of the ink I wanted, so I picked up a package of paper and a few small things that added up to $9.99. Went I finished up at the checkout, I was surprised to receive this coupon for the penny that I didn’t spend! And I have until May 30 to spend it! Now I’ll have to go back on the 29th and find something that costs a penny. I love the part that says “Must Redeem in Full.” How do you spend half a penny?
I apologize for my absence lately. I am in the middle of moving. I closed on my newly built home March 30th, and have been busy packing and getting my current home ready to put on the market. It's taking longer than I planned! But I'm almost there, and will be moving to my new home on May 25th. It turns out that moving and photography are not very compatible!
