I couldn't resist a little sliding for this red Corvette Stingray that I found parked on the seafront in Portland, Victoria. It was a plain flat red, but a little sliding goodness brought out the true colours!
Happy Slider Sunday

The young boys dream of the sixties was to own a 1964 Corvette Stingray. this one is in mint condition and was on display at the 2019 Drive Fir the Cure Car Show.
The 2019 Annual Drive for the cure Canada (to raise Prostate Cancer awareness) held its annual car show at the Brampton Powerade Centre. there was a bevy of beautiful classic cars; so many wonderful automotive designs from years gone by and all in one place. there were well over four hundred cars on display. .

As most folks know, the 1963 Corvette Sting Ray was the first year of this iconic body style. . .And the only year the car featured the rear "split-window". . .The window design was approved by GM Head Designer Bill Mitchell, but was hated by Corvette Chief Engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov. . .Mitchell won the argument for 1963, but in 1964 the GM executives sided with Duntov and the split-window was done away with. . .This has made the '63 Vette one of the most desirable collector cars in history. . .I really like the look of the split-window design myself and wish they would have continued it throughout this design phase of the 'Vette which ran from '63 through '67. . .This one was on display at the Blacktop Nationals in Wichita several years ago. . .

The Sting Ray’s “stinger” scoop is one of the most recognizable hoods ever used on the Corvette. It was the original L88 hood before the C3 showed up and changed what “L88 hood” meant. That center stinger leading into a wide, subtle scoop had a suggestion of a jet intake—appropriate, considering Chevy’s “Turbo-Jet” engine nomenclature—and gave the Corvette room to fit a taller Chevy big-block V-8 with a mid-rise dual-plane intake.
Saturday night cruising in Paprihaven.
The old joke goes, "An Escort, a Triumph and a Vette pull up to the pumps..."
Market Street cruising is in full swing. The multitude of high performance, finely tuned engines sounds like thunder. One must shout to be heard and, even then, it is difficult.
The sound, colors and styles of the motor masterpieces create an environment like no other. For the auto enthusiast... this is lovely.

Kind of a wild background using Topaz Texture Effects 2 and Topaz Impression 2, but then again, those are two pretty wild cars. ;-) Check our all my other recent car pics.
