We had a enjoyable visit to the the RHS garden at Harlow Carr near Harrogate last week . It was a bright crisp day with just a little snow on the ground . The snow certainly helped these bright Cornus alba 'Sibirica' shrubs to look their best
THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT TO MY STREAM.
I WOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL IF YOU COULD NOT FAVE A PHOTO WITHOUT ALSO LEAVING A COMMENT .

The shell of the common Garden snail, Cornu aspersum, contains pigment-containing cells known as chromatophores. A physiological colour change can be initiated in these cells to allow the animal to change its colour to match its surroundings and so provide protective camouflage. The mechanism is similar to that found in cephalopods such as cuttlefish and octopus, although the snail is much slower to produce the colour change than these other molluscs.
For Looking Close on Friday theme 'Orange'.
Sorry, I wanted to post this on April 1 but that would have missed the theme.

The leaves look like Cornus florida, the common dogwood, and so do the flowers, but the fruit is definitely different!
Thanks for looking! Isn't God a great artist?
As summer draws to a close, I thought it would be very appropriate for the Macro Mondays theme 'Leaf' to show a tiny bit of the decimation of my hosta plants! I have given up on my Gastropod Relocation Programme, and the snails seem to be enjoying themselves immensely.

Foglie accartocciate, in caduta libera, nessun rametto nuovo, aspetto generale assai preoccupante.
We took a walk around Hilliers Arboretum on a crisp, sunny day.
I loved the colour combination of the birch trees losing bits of their bark and the underplanting of bright dogwood.

A flowering head of a dogwood, Cornus florida, in our yard, on April 2, 2016. The bracts have been open for some time, but now some of the tiny flowers have begun to open. You can see a couple of anthers sticking up.
Thanks for looking. Isn't God a great artist?
