1 Peter 2:6-8
New King James Version
6 Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture,
“Behold, I lay in Zion
A chief cornerstone, elect, precious,
And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.”
7 Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient,
“The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone,”
8 and
“A stone of stumbling
And a rock of offense.”
They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5, 6.

The liberty of the individual is no gift of civilization. It was greatest before there was any civilization.

taken in Jaffa, Israel. 5 November, 2006.
NOTA BENE:
Jaffa - Jaffa (or Yafo) is one of the most ancient port cities in the world. Mentioned in Bible.
Some claim that Jaffa was named after Japheth, one of the three sons of Noah, who built it after the Great Flood. A Hebrew etymology indicates that the city is called Jaffa because of its beauty (yofi in Hebrew). The Hellenist tradition links the name to "Iopeia", which is Cassiopeia, the mother of Andromeda. However, the Hellenist accounting for the name dates from hundreds of years after the original naming. [citation needed]

Boats lie, at anchor, in fog.
I shot this to capture the sense of mystery that the boats, shrouded in mist, present. I liked the partially hidden nature of the scene.
A beautiful appartment house being built on a corner near the docks in Antwerp Belgium. Apparently the sun has the same opinion on its sculptural splendor. I took the liberty to quadruple the experience.
