Computer monitor and keyboard on desktop.

Going through some old photos on my pooter and found a whole bunch from a sunny weekend down in Bristol that show the many things that Dad and Grandpa liked to do.

Computer things - possibly skype or flickr going on here.

Acorn made some great computers - I still have fond memories of the BBC Micro and the version of BASIC it ran. The Electron was another good computer from the company.

This is my current computer setup. Eventually the laptop will go away, but not before I migrate everything to the new computer. And yes, that's World of Warcraft on the Intel iMac, currently in the process of being patched to the new Universal Binary version.

The P.E. teacher gave me a red pocket pedometer holder. It was the perfect solution for storing computer mice for the mobile laptop cart. This system makes it very easy for my primary kids to access.

Battleships such as USS Massachusetts were equipped with gyro-stabilized gun fire control systems (GFCS) which incorporated large, complex analog computers.

If the ship's main GFCS was damaged, the main battery turrets were also equipped with "local" ballistics computers, which would allow aimed fire to continue. This picture shows the knobs used to enter various values, and the dials and indicators used to display the required aiming solution.

where all the nerd happens.

Making it work...Spica cast and all!!

Proof, as if it were needed, that I'm spending too much time in the office - I'm trapped in my computer and i can't get out!

This is another idea that I, er, ahem, liberated from The Brownhorse.. but his was a homage to another Flickrite, hbrstudios

See the Brownhorse original www.flickr.com/photos/the_brownhorse/1805199522/in/set-72...

...and, yes, I do always tend to work in amongst this much clutter. It's a fair reflection of my mind, I suspect.

My computer Desktop using linux Ubuntu 6.10 "Fiesty" + Beryl 3d Desktop.

Adam got a new computer...

Bits include:

A CoolerMaster MasterCase 5 Pro

A Corsair RM750i 750W power supply (in case he decides to overclock the crap out of it and add a gazillion hard drives and another graphics card and all)

ASRock X370 Taichi Motherboard (Good feature set without being stupidly expensive - a couple more case fan headers would have been nice though....)

AMD Ryzen 7 1700 CPU (possibly to be overclocked in the future)

16GB Corsair Vengance 3200 Memory (It actually works as advertised with the latest BIOS, as well...)

A Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming video card (Gotta push thouse 1080p frames...)

A 500GB Samsung 960 EVO nVME SSD (Almost sub-second boot times - this thing's speedy)

A 4TB WD Black mechanical hard drive (lots of (relatively) fast space - on a clear disk you can seek forever)

An LG Blu-Ray burner (for creating dvds and things as needed)

A Razer Blackwidow Chroma keyboard (because...errr...RGB?)

Windows 10 Home (the Microsoft tax must be paid...)

I put it together with his...help ;)

The only hiccup was trying to get Windows installed - the Taichi will not boot from a USB plugged into a front USB port, but is perfectly happy to boot from one on the back panel. This may have delayed things somewhat, particularly as the board happily updated its BIOS from a USB stick in the front panel....odd.

Otherwise it's a screamer...I'm jealous...

one late night looking at interesting photos on Flikr. goofing around i just decide to snap a shot to see what would turn out. this is what turned out and is one of my favs. (on a side note to the owners of the pics in the background... hope you dont mind that i used them but somehow it seemed fitting)

Back in 1990, when i was 13, my father gave me an Atari 800 xl. This is a (very) Basic program I made using the highest graphical capacity of 300x190 px.

In a tv, the output seems to have pixels in white, red and blue, but the graphics is actually made in just one color.
