Free 486 base unit for anyone who can collect from London SE13, UK.
50 throbbing megahertz of raw computing power can be yours.
Generic 486 PC base unit, needs new 3.6v CMOS battery. Stuck a tiny 100MB hard drive in it just to prove it starts up. Has keyboard, mouse, floppy drive, Soundblaster soundcard, 3com ethernet card, CD-ROM drive (will not boot from CD ROM though).
Seems to work but no proper OS installed, and without that CMOS battery you'll be typing numbers into the CMOS each time to get it to see the hard drive.
Sorry, monitor not included!
Would suit mad masochist trying to get some obscure Linux distro running on the lowest spec machine in the universe.
This chap lives under the computer, he has a nice soft tummy to polish the screen.

This is my office space at the newspaper where all the magic happens with the computer. Actually it is more likely where the computer likes to crash but ...anyhow it is home to me.
The Guelph Technology Showcase 2.0 took place in the Science Complex Atrium Jan. 29. Companies had a chance to show off their products and discuss career opportunities, while students could make connections and chat to alumni of the Computer Science department and other related programs at the U of G.

My main computer, The Slut. Note the $1 bill in the 5.25" floppy drive. Yes, it has a 5.25" floppy drive.
Now containing 100% more CD burners! I'm only about five years behind everyone else.
Yesterday I clicked on an Apple upgrade* on my computer which changed iPhoto to Photos. It took nearly three hours to load and the photos on my computer have been rearranged, I can't load new ones to the iMac and I can't amalgamate or remove folders. Perhaps I will be able to do it eventually.
I took this photo with my Ricoh camera, loaded the picture to my external hard drive and uploaded it to Flickr from there :(
* Upgrade ! More like a downgrade !
My computer has been dead for a few months, and I`ve been borrowing the man`s computer. We decided it was time to get a computer for me. I wanted a desktop, so we, being suckers for Sony goodies, got a Vaio.
It`s pretty sweet. Huge screen, and plays TV too.
Now to get a desk for it ^^;

Old computer desk and my M11x. Not my main gaming rig anymore, but a damn good little workhorse. Tablet for Netflix and games mostly.
Free extra cabinet from a project holds a bunch of spare tech things, secure handgun and knife storage, etc.
Plenty of space for moving between the rows of computers which is nice for having people work together or being able to help people out.
The digital computer was invented at my alma mater of Iowa State University (see the machine above) by math/physics professor John Atanasoff and his grad student Cliff Berry during the '39-'42 school years.
The X200s comes with standard red-colored TrackPoint only (no touchpad - believe to save space).

Their current project is to design as “smart” aquarium, one that will allow a pet owner to have video streamed to their wearable device, as well as to automatically feed the fish when traveling. This is their project for the EECS 373 Expo scheduled for early December.

A few days ago I emailed a few of the reporters from and the editor of the LA Times health section, hoping at least one of them would write me back with some advice how to get their jobs one day. Well I believe they all wrote back (even the editor) and one called me today and we talked for like 30 minutes. She told me to call her when I'm in LA so we shall see....
