The Night Shadow 1 comes standard with our cutting edge "Smart" technology. This technology consists of a computerized proximity sensor, digital controls and a long-range Infrared Illuminator. The proximity sensor will automatically turn the Night Shadow 1 on and off when it is brought to the viewing position. This helps to save your battery life and the life of the unit itself. The digital controls allow you to activate all of the features of the Night Shadow 1 with an easy push of a button. We also built a powerful Infrared Illuminator into the Scope. This allows you to see even in total darkness with outstanding clarity. It is dark. You can barely see your hand in front of your face. You bring your Night Shadow 1 Night Vision Device up to your eyes and turn it on. Suddenly, in green-hued clarity, the entire scene is like day. Typical squid boat: lots of lights, mechanized/computerized machines by HAMADE/Towa Denki, and only 2 crew.
She's a Husqvarna Viking model and is about 9 years old, I think. She has a bunch of computerized stitches I never use. She works like a dream!
We purchased her the one year that my husband got a really good bonus. The company wasn't used to people actually earning the bonuses, so they restructured the system so people earned useless company shares instead of cash. We saved carefully and used the rest of the money for my graduate school degree, and occupational and speech therapy for our toddler-aged son.
This is a part of Weather Display software. Using the free and unregistered version I edited the display and change the background. For the background I chose Oak wood to give that classic weather station look. So even though it's a computerized image still looks like a classic station from the 60's.
Not only did they leave the piano they also left ALL of our records! Before you celibrate they were computerized.

This place is amazing. And the selection is incredible. The whole lower floor of the house is full of books, floor to ceiling. She's computerized the inventory, so she can tell you if a book is there, and they're organized into logical categories. The perfect used bookstore.
This aluminum catamaran is the cat's meow ,it is all computerized and as a retired welded i noticed that aluminum is everywhere!

The last stage of the suspension installation was to align the suspension. Eddie and the shop used a computerized system that displayed the camber and toe in real time as they adjusted things.
We went with 1.5 degrees negative camber at front, 2.0 at the rear, and about 1/16" of toe-out at all four corners. As the shocks break in and I have the chance to take the car out for some test days, we may adjust things (particularly as I move to a more aggressive track-oriented tire), but for now the car is a delight to drive.
Doctors put Ganov, a two-and-a-half-year-old African lioness, into a CAT (computerized axial tomography) scanner, usually reserved for humans, at the Rambam Hospital 21 November 2005 in the nothern Israeli port city of Haifa. The Haifa zoo want to determine if the big cat has an illness, causing loss of vitamin A, a condition which can affect the species in captivity. The CAT scanner produces cross-sectional and holographic X-ray imagery.

It's impossible to drive around either island without constantly gazing out the window... since there might not be any other spot on earth with so much diversified beauty per square foot. Majestic vistas are what New Zealand is known for. And as you soak-up the scenery, be prepared for multitudes of eyes staring right back at you.
No, I'm not talking about the Kiwis or the other friendly inhabitants. It's the fields of sheep which have never learned 'it's not polite to stare'. Perhaps, like this group of sheep, they're just inquisitive as to whether it's their turn to once again be sheared.
Thanks for the wool, sheep. Thanks for posing for this picture too.

Wayyyy before the iPad hit the market I was experimenting and developing ways to use tablet computers as a tool in assisting to create art pieces. Since those ancient days I have pretty much settled on the iPad as the canvas I develop for and finalize much of my art and music with.
Art developed with a Windows tablet... a device which failed to take-off commercially though highly touted by Mr. Gates.

Hand painted using digital pixels to reflect oil paint on canvas.
The artist is both professionally trained and self-taught in traditional art mediums... as well as utilizing the computer for yet another means to a visual end. The final result is computer art with the look and feel of traditional 'painted' art.
My subjects include the familiar world around us... nature in all it's beauty; the four seasons; people; places; the effects of our involvement upon our world; the animal world; etc. I also accept special orders and paint custom subjects upon request... just contact me!

The Roger B. Chaffee Planetarium is named after the Grand Rapids-born astronaut who lost his life in the 1967 Apollo 1 spacecraft fire. The Planetarium is complete with computerized Digistar and laser projectors, producing multiple video and still images and incredible special effects, accompanied by high-powered digital sound.
I didn't print the block before I sent it off to the project, but I did make a computerized faux print. I used gray scale and a mirror image to get an idea how it would print.
A CNC Computerized leather cutting machine. This amazing machine allows an operator to cut leather with remarkable efficiency by allowing them to lay out the patterns on a screen, as well as on the leather itself using lasers.

OTTAWA SEMI-AUTOMATIC EXCHANGE (OSAX)
Inevitably, computerization replaced earlier communications technologies. The OSAX computers were cutting edge and top secret in the early 1980s.
The original Burroughs 4800 mainframe computers, similar to the ones here, were enormous, both in terms of size and relative processing power. They handled more than 100,000 messages per month, and connected the Bunker to Canadian and allied military bases around the globe.
The room rests on a raised platform. Underneath, cables connect the computers and a ventilation system cools the hard-working equipment. Once the doors are closed, the OSAX is what the military calls a "TEMPEST room", shielded from floor to ceiling in metal to prevent electronic eavesdropping.
The computers' sole connection to the outside world was via secure optic fibre; data was stored on large magnetic tapes. The average smartphone has more computing power-but just try to get a signal in the Bunker.
Teletype machines were also in use in OSAX. Starting in the early 1990s, large computers were phased out in favour of PCs.
“…there were a lot of places in here that were restricted... OSAX was the most restricted area."

guess what? this robot (and lots of other computerized systems in space) use PowerPCs! neat!
these robots are used to test the programs and tech scientists hope to use for the Terrestrial Planet Finder telescope array. the telescopes must all hover in space in a precise formation. these 700 lb robots float on a thin layer of air to simulate being in space. sadly the other robot's air tanks were depleted so we didn't get to see them do their coordinated ballet. the presentation was still really neat though!
Hotel CRS stands for hotel central reservation system and is commonly used in resort and hotel industry. CRS or central reservation system is a computerized system that revolves around storage and distribution of information concerning resorts, hotels and host of lodging facilities.
CRS as a tool is used to reach the global distribution system or GDS along with internet distribution system from a single point system. Hotel managers use this tool to manage their online sales and marketing avenues. They also project their rates and availabilities which are easily viewable by the sales channel i.e. the online travel agencies team aligned with CRS.
Some of the primary functions in CRS as below
• Fully flexible and scalable for growing business.
• Platform which is easier to use.
• Manageability of rates, availability and content or information from single point of entry.
• Connectivity of hotels to GDS, online travel agents as well as mobile booking engines.
• Multiple distribution channels emphasized with channel manager usage.
Now lets understand, what information is stored in Hotel CRS. Information includes room types, room rates, conditions, inventories, plan rate architecture, reservation information, graphical information in the form of video, pictures and detailed hotel information like address, phone and fax numbers and geographical code information.
Hotel CRS reporting module is very important and calls for a number of standard reports. System reports are those reports which can be run daily, weekly, monthly or yearly and sometimes on need based request. Some of the basic reports include for expected arrivals, reservation, property forecasting, property details, agent activity and daily booking activity summary.
So CRS can be conceptualized as backend office system of a booking engine which enables administration of rates and availabilities with ease and comfort. It also involves the management of statistical evolution of all incoming reservations.
In a nutshell, with the presence of Hotel CRS, travelers can search for more hotels and book them in a more efficient manner, as it works like a hotel’s central reservation system.
Here are few ways CRS benefits a company and travelers
• While travelers reserve their requirements over the hotel spread, convenience and efficiency comes into picture.
• Travel policy compliance increases as travelers use company-preferred booking or reservation channels
• From company’s viewpoint, as hotel booking data which is very vital is captured, this data is used for performance measurements and sometimes supplier negotiations.
• Traveler satisfaction is boosted as the tool is more user-friendly.
After a long 6 month fight, often working nights and weekends around my neurotic startup job, all of the computerized / robotic automations in my business had finally been deployed. It took hours upon untold hours to test every circuit and tighten every single bolt / hose clamp. And along the way, probably everything that could have went wrong *DID* go wrong, from electrical fire on the server rack to coolant leaks, to me being stupid and plumbing a heat exchanger in backwards.

These are the custom built control boxes that I have running the entire show. They each contain an Arduino module, talking to the control computer (LongMarch) over USB.
If I were to buy these off the shelf here in the US, they would have been about $500.00 a pop. And I need 4 of 'em. Not to mention the proprietary software that I probably have to buy.
These were built for less than $100.00 each. I wrote the software that runs on the microchips in them, so I know exactly what the hell is going on.
This was from School Press Institute at Syracuse University, which I attended before my senior year in high school. Here, Prof. Mario Garcia demonstrates the absolutely incredible technology that allowed you to EDIT your work before sending it to a typesetting device. This was so advanced that when I worked on computerized typesetting just four years later, that machine still only allowed you to edit the line you were typing, not the whole story.

Another skill demonstration. This one is of how to use a paint gun to paint auto body panels.
The interesting thing is that this is a computerized simulation, but it still gives the student a good representation of how he is doing. Move too slow, and it shows paint runs, move too fast, and it shows the missed spots.
