Western Canada Pond Hockey Championship in Chestermere, Alberta.

In youth sport, there is no time for strategy, only sensation. The sound of breath, the weight of the ball, the sudden awareness of space opening where none existed a second earlier. This moment lives between thought and reaction, where instinct takes over and the body commits fully to motion. Rugby at this age is honest and unfiltered, driven not by outcome but by belief, the belief that running hard is enough.

There is a moment in every game when noise disappears and instinct takes over. The field stretches, legs burn, and the world narrows to breath, balance, and belief. This is not about winning or losing yet. It is about effort before outcome, courage before consequence. Youth rugby lives in these seconds, raw, honest, and unpolished, where movement becomes memory and childhood briefly wears the shape of determination.

There is a fleeting moment in sport when effort becomes instinct and the field opens like a promise. The body leans forward, the mind commits, and everything behind fades into pursuit. Youth rugby lives in these seconds, raw, imperfect, and fearless, where courage is measured not by size or score, but by the willingness to run when the gap appears. This is childhood in motion, driven by belief and momentum rather than outcome.

Two young soccer players from FK Rajec share a light-hearted moment during a youth match in 2017. Their smiles and camaraderie reflect the spirit of teamwork and friendship that local sports bring to communities. This candid shot captures the joy of participating in sports and the bonds formed on the field. A perfect reminder of the innocence and enthusiasm of youth soccer.

Sport organizations across B.C. will receive financial support from the Province’s $1.5-million Local Sport Relief Fund.

The COVID-19 pandemic has put financial pressure on many local sports clubs throughout British Columbia that have had limited ability to offer programming and fundraise to cover expenses. Without financial support, these clubs are at risk of closure, leaving communities without local access to sport. A total of 288 organizations will be supported by the Local Sport Relief Fund.

Atmosféra zachytáva sústredenie a očakávanie pred zápasom.

A group of youth football players from FK Rajec listens attentively to their coach during a team talk before a preparatory match in 2017. The players, dressed in blue and white striped uniforms with blue shorts, stand in a semi-circle around the coach, who is giving instructions on a grass field under a clear sky. The background features rural buildings and a hillside, emphasizing a countryside setting. The atmosphere captures the focus and anticipation before the match.
