On April 3, 2025 advocates, direct service providers and New Yorkers who support strengthening food security for all held a rally at the steps of City Hall on the day of the NYC Council Oversight Hearing on Hunger and Food Insecurity in New York City to call on the Mayor and City Council to fund the Community Food Connection (CFC) program at $100M in the next budget, to increase support for food pantries and soup kitchens who are on the frontlines in the fight against hunger.
