Just in time for St. Valentine's Day, here's another view of "Still Life with Red Roses" from a photography project for a client's website.....certainly a departure from my usual landscapes and Old World scenes, but I thought I'd share them with you anyway. Another image from my Still Life series, a project for a client's website. I added just a touch of Diffuse Glow to this one. If I added a lot of glow it blew the whites out too much and destroyed the detail in the silver and glass objects. I tried to find a balance between having the richness of the colors and textures, but also a delicate soft quality.

This was shot indoors with lights set up, and a shallow depth of field to accentuate the foreground and allow the trees in the garden to act as soft background.
