I guess I'm doing a series on Commercial Street in Springfield! I didn't realize that until I looked back over this past week, and saw a theme. The old buildings are fascinating, and many are getting a second, third, or fourth life...

Hi gang! Here's an image that comes to mind when I think of a wintery wonderland.
Originally taken and submitted by John Salzarulo (thanks man!) I remixed this by wiping out the colours and making this image just purely black and white. I rejigged up some of the tones to make the trees and road jump out more. I think the scene of naturally white snow contrasts well with the black tones in the trees and road. We can see in this image that a technique known as 'leading lines' is partially used as our attention is drawn from the foreground to the background.
Photo free to download, remix, use etc..
Thanks for your support guys, stay awesome!

There used to be dozens of pubs in Launceston, like most cities in Australia. Now the number diminishes by the year. The newly named Sports Garden Hotel on the left is now a place where live music is performed and they also provide backpacker accommodation. The Commercial across the street is known as "The Mersh" and its main claim to fame these days is as a gaming venue. Both these pubs were thriving a century ago.
Naples Memorial Town Hall is a historic town hall located at Naples in Ontario County, New York. It was built in 1870-72 and is a lavish and imposing, two story rectangular brick building in the Italianate style. It was designed by A. J. Warner & Company,[2] the Rochester partnership of A. J. Warner and Charles Coots. The town hall served as the center of the village and town's social and recreational activities until World War II. Between 1942 and 1972, the building was in private hands and served a variety of commercial and light industrial uses. In 1972, it was reacquired by the town and serves as a community center and host site for the annual Naples Grape Festival
There's a gaggle of young fans and one old one in New Brighton as Minnesota Commercial Job 46 with specially painted B36-7 No. 76 heads east. There's not a lot of "scenery" on the MNNR so this is about the best shot you can get on the railroad with an "out in the country" feel.

My heart is broken. These once substantial buildings on the town square across the street from Clay County Courthouse, have been demolished.
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance. O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee ...

A view of W. Main Street as seen from above Capitol Ave. in the heart of the Mount Sterling Commercial Historic District. The district includes four entire city blocks and parts of four others. Nearly all of the buildings in the district are Italianate commercial buildings; the only exceptions are a Classical Revival bank building (a portion of which is seen in the lower left) and the courthouse (shown previously), which incorporates both Italianate and Classical Revival elements. The district was added to the NRHP in 1987.
Mount Sterling is the seat of Brown County. The city had a population of 2,006 at the 2020 census.

I don't know anything about commercial real estate, but I don't see many potential tenants lining up to lease these buildings.
