A Mourning Dove is cleared for landing. He used our Camas Basalt rock as a pit stop, before proceeding to the seed feeding station.

That is to say, that is what I will be doing throughout July. I probably won't upload anything new (but who knows), but I will try to pop by when I have time (and a good Internet connection). Though this time I won't be going to Japan but to Italy (for both business and pleasure)!
Long-exposure shot - not using a tripod but a rail! And yes, if you didn't know already, Japan has left-hand traffic.
As I worked on the editing of this barn in a nearby town, I realized I had already posted a photo of the same barn taken on the same day, but from a different direction! We often take day trips to visit our son and his family, and pass by this barn both going and coming. Hopefully, you will enjoy it again with different light and editing! flic.kr/p/2b4roQs

"Coming home, I'm coming home
Let me show you who I am
Let me show you I'm your man
I would give anything just to see you again
Coming home, I'm coming home
Let me show you that I care
Let me show you that I share
I would give anything to see Jeanny again
Coming home"

“Fall has always been my favorite season. The time when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.”
― Lauren DeStefano, Wither
at least on this attempt.
This grizzly sow was fishing late into the night in order to put as much fat on herself and her two cubs before their long winter sleep. She was actually very successful.
This shoveler couple was at the lake the other day; caught the in flight, but the thing that I noted was the light coming through their bills from the hole in the backside!
Cannot wait to see the rapeseed showing up in green and yellow as here in the Porta Westfalica Area, Ostwestfalen, Germany
Finally back on Flickr. Had a fabulous month off. Hope it gave Flickr time to get everything in order.
Spent some time in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. There were two young adults just kicked out by mom and not sure what to do with themselves so they hung out near the road. Spent many special hours with them.
FYI this was taken with a 600mm lens on cropped camera with ranger near by.
Sommelsdijk is a village on the island of Goeree-Overflakkee, South Holland, the Netherlands, and part of the municipality of the same name. Sommelsdijk has (1 January 2006) 7,383 inhabitants which makes it the largest settlement on the island.
In the past, Sommelsdijk was the only place on the island of Goeree-Overflakee that was part of the province of Zeeland. In 1805 it was made a part of Holland, and remained such under the amendment of the Dutch Constitution of 1814.
Early March 1941 during the Second World War, nearly two hundred young men from Sommelsdijk were incarcerated for one month because of insulting the German army and the Dutch police.
Sommelsdijk was a separate municipality until 1966, when it became part of Middelharnis. Most recently, it was made part of the new municipality of Goeree-Overflakkee in 2013.
RKO_5529. Approaching vulture! After the lions left the kill it was great fun to wait for the incoming vultures. A nice challenge to get some good flight shots as many times it was unpredictable how/from what side they would come in.
