El macizo Occidental fue declarado Parque Nacional el 22 de julio de 1918, constituyendo el primer espacio protegido del país, con el nombre de "Parque Nacional de la Montaña de Covadonga"; posteriormente, el 30 de mayo de 1995, se incorporaron los macizos Central y Oriental, recibiendo el nombre de "Parque Nacional de los Picos de Europa".
Tiene una extensión de 67.127 Has., de las cuales 27.027 Has. corresponden a Asturias, 24.719 Has. a Castilla y León y 15.381 Has. a Cantabria.
Es el segundo Parque nacional más visitado de España y Reserva de la Biosfera desde el 9 de julio de 2003.

Today, Trump decided to fire James Comey because anyone actually trying to discover Trump's ties with Russia has to be fired. (As well as anyone who disagrees with Trump) Trump would be acting like a big spoiled dictator except he has to wear big diapers because he's such a baby and makes up such vivid stories to try to trick all the gullible people in my country.
Trump, you're fired! You never had the majority and even from the get go, I was one of the people taking over Lakeshore Drive in Chicago to protest against your phony presidency. It isn't the United States of Russia. It's the United States of America. Doesn't matter if you're conservative or liberal at this point, stand up for the fate of this country or you are a coward.

Es geht hoch her in Washington heute nacht, nachdem Trump FBI-Direktor Comey gefeuert hat, der ihm ja noch mit zum Wahlsieg verholfen hatte durch sein ungeschicktes/böswilliges Agieren in Sachen Clinton-eMails. Aber nun ermittelt seine Behörde eben auch in Sachen Russland-Verbindungen der Trump-Truppe, und das ist unangenehm.
Ein Watergate-Moment? Vielleicht.
This was right after the March For Truth protest about a week ago in Chicago. I loved watching this kid, so carefree and happy after marching with others in his city who also very desperately want not only a new president but a new election because we are supposed to be a democracy and our democracy has been stolen. If you've been following the news from abroad, let me update you...Trump clearly wants no investigation into Russian connections. He is obstructing justice and Comey's testimony proves this. The idea that Trump would testify under oath and an oath would actually mean something is also ridiculous. This is a paid tv actor, a man who might not even know the difference between fasehoods and reality and we're going to cling to the idea that an oath carries some weight? No. Let's get real.
And, meanwhile, Americans were so distracted with Comey they didn't realize the House GOP fast-tracked Trumpcare so that they could drink beer and celebrate taking health care away from 24+ millions of Americans. If this doesn't exactly sound in line with the way a democracy should function, you're correct. It isn't.

La Xtreme Lagos de Covadonga cumplio cinco ediciones y un año más formo parte tanto de la Copa Asturias de Carreras de Montaña como de la prestigiosa K42 Adventure Marathon Series.
El recorrido de este año fue idéntico al de la pasada edición. Es decir 42 Km por Picos de Europa en concreto por la zona como dice su nombre de los Lagos de Covadonga
La salida tuvo lugar en El Repelao, desde donde acometieron, por un zigzageante sendero, la Cruz de Priena para atravesar su cordal hasta llegar a Huesera y, a continuación a los Lagos de Covadonga.
Dentro del maravilloso entorno del Macizo del Cornión, en plenos Picos de Europa, volveremos a recorrer la Vega de Comeya, ascenderemos a la Porra de Enol, atravesaremos Fana y Orandi, y muchos otros parajes hasta el corazón de Cangas de Onís que harán que la balanza entre dureza y belleza se equilibren.
La edición de este año incluye algunas novedades como, por ejemplo, un “Hospital de campaña”, en meta, con médico especialista en medicina deportiva y equipo de Fisioterapeutas a disposición de nuestros valientes participantes.

Taken from City of Rocks State Park, New Mexico, Some haze was passing thru this night but this is a stack of the cleanest frames.

It's important to note that we have a president who treats the presidency like it's still a t.v. show and fires anyone who disagrees or might investigate him. In the meantime, he's meeting with the Russian foreign minister, Sergey V. Lavrov, and not allowing US media inside. Trump must be an idiot...he tweets but he doesn't realize that by letting Russian journalists in, we'll all have access to those smiling photos of him and Sergey soon enough and it probably took less than an hour for them to be all over American media too.
We have a GOP that refuses to do their job to serve justice and their country and are only interested in passing health care bills that will actively harm and endanger the lives of their constituents. Not really any good old fashioned Christian Conservative values I'm familiar with...maybe they are reading a different version of the Bible.
In the meantime, let's not lose sight of all of the harm Trump keeps causing on the US and the world as if he's an out of control manic forest fire.
One key story that has been buried considering all the non stop media circus around Trump, Russia, and Comey is is relentless disregard for Science and the environment. The fact that earlier the Environmental Protection Agency dismissed half of its key scientists should be raising some alarm bells. Of course, Trump doesn't believe in facts suggesting global warming exists anyway. It must be blissful in his billionaire reality where his biggest problem is that he sucks at golf and people keep nagging him about his best friend Putin.

Since I quit tango lessons, I have few opportunities to wear fishnet tights. A party seemed like a good occasion, though!
“Jeans and a going-out top” were the staples of evening dressing for many women. It was never my thing, though. I prefer “going-out legs” in a dress, skirt, or shorts to wearing jeans.

Leather and leopard
This pleated, pleather skirt is new. I think it’s long enough to wear to work, but I wore it on a weekend, first.
My Super Sunday plans were canceled after I had already dressed, so I was a bit overdressed for the back-up plan of dinner at an Indian restaurant.

i bought these rachel comey shoes (very much on sale) a few months ago and have been waiting patiently for the snow to melt so i can wear them. this weekend has been so nice mostly because of the warm weather but also because i got to wear these beauties!! best shoes ever.
80s blousing
It’s been years (at least 35) since I tucked in an oversized top and then purposefully bloused it. What’s old is new again!
This is the last wearing of this pleather pencil skirt. I bought it from Amazon and do not recommend it since it split a seam on its sixth wearing. (And it wasn’t even a “load-bearing” seam!) I DO recommend the flats (also from Amazon). I’ve worn them a few dozen times (including on a 3-week trip to San Diego) and am very happy with how they fit and feel.

Here is a farm implement as the Orange Don! I searched the entire Comey book for a white lie but only turned over the Don's orange lies. It looks like the climate at the Bush funeral was too black for the likes of orange racists.
Yup, nothing rusts like America! This implement is another that was built of heavy steel, well before the US discontinued steel production. Here is another recent McIntosh shot from April of a disappearing John Deere logo on an agricultural hay rake. It almost looks like the rust could be growing and supporting more green life.
It used to be that the Longmont Pioneer Museum showed the heritage of Longmont's St. Vrain Valley agriculture but now the new museum is a clone of all other vanilla museums. The McIntosh/Lohr Agricultural Center has become our defacto showpiece of St. Vrain Valley heritage.
This is the McIntosh-Lohr Farm Agricultural Museum on Highway #66, (not the same as Route #66) It goes up to Estes Park and mostly ends @ east Flatteville and Hwy. #66. I wanted to get a walk in this afternoon when I saw this.

Even James Comey got into trouble when he texted (or perhaps tweeted) this number. It's good to see it in use here.
Here is something for the numerology crowd: add 86 plus 47, and you get 133. Add 1 plus 3, and you get 4. Add the other 3 and you get 7. Is there some special significance to everything ending up in the single digit 7? If it is a lucky number, is that why he's still around?
Comet Lovejoy this evening (January 1, 2015). Only managed a single 60-second exposure before the clouds rolled in. You can see the hint of a tail pointing toward 10 o'clock.
I went on the parachute jump in the 1950’s I remember there was only a swing type seat and a chain to keep you in and your feet dangled in thin air. When got to the top it seemed like you could see forever. I also went on the Wonder Wheel (the Ferris wheel in the Photo) there were two types of cars on the Wonder Wheel one stayed still the other swung on short rails. I loved the second type.

When I’m at the office, I try to take walk breaks. Now that I’m downtown, they can be shopping breaks, too! I finally restocked on my favorite Anthropologie perfume, La Vanille.
Don’t be fooled by the heeled sandals. I was passing folks right and left on the downtown sidewalks. I was on a speed walk from the light rail station to the office. (I was a bit slower on the way home.)
