Hashiguchi Goyō's ukiyo-e painting Kamisuki (Combing Hair) converted to a vector then reconverted to a raster image. The overall result is a little dark but if used as a background to a tablet, it may not matter.

Vintage publicity photo of Dorothy Lamour combing her hair. Produced in 1937 by Paramount Pictures. And guess what?! Paramount executives predict "certain stardom for Miss Lamour..." She would be about 23 years old in this photo.

Copy slug on back:

SAILING HIGH- Dorothy Lamour, once chosen Miss New Orleans, steps up another notch in “Swing High, Swing Low,” the new Carole Lombard-Fred MacMurray film, and is now working with Irene Dunne in “High, Wide And Handsome,” which also features Randolph Scott. Paramount executives predict certain stardom for Miss Lamour this year.

Dorothy Lamour, (MARY LETA DOROTHY SLATON),

U.S. actress (born Dec. 10, 1914, New Orleans, La.—died Sept. 22, 1996, Los Angeles, Calif.), was best remembered by filmgoers as the sarong-clad object of Bob Hope’s and Bing Crosby’s attention in a series of "Road" pictures. She was a favourite pinup of troops in World War II, frequently visited the Hollywood Canteen to dance and talk with GIs, and was a dedicated promoter of U.S. war bonds. After winning the 1931 Miss New Orleans contest, Lamour began her performing career as a singer in nightclubs and on the radio, first in Chicago and then in New York City.

I did some small, cosmetic clean-up retouches in photoshop.

Any comments or observations are much appreciated!

Fresh out of the shower. No make up. You can really see the tired eyes. Still with the family drama. Add to that, today was the four-month anniversary of my husband's death. A long, hot shower was the best way I could think of to relax at the end of the day. Now I need a long, quiet night's sleep so that I'll be fresh to face a roomful of juvenile delinquents in a counseling group in the morning. Should be fun! :)
