Na cidade de Brusque, no Vale Europeu, em Santa Catarina, o prato típico da região é o marreco com repolho roxo, muito procurado e consumido pelos turistas. Tamanha é a procura que a cidade criou a Festa Nacional do Marreco - Fenarreco - que acontece em outubro. A festa tem como prato principal o marreco, mas o chopp, as danças típicas, a música e a alegria são complementos fundamentais no enredo.

Colombo is a busy and vibrant city with a mixture of modern life and colonial buildings and ruins and a city population of 647,100. The Colombo Metropolitan Region, defined by the districts of Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara, has an estimated population of 5,648,000, and covers an area of 3,694.20 km².

Colombo (em cingalês: , pron. AFI: [ˈkoləmbə]; em tâmil: கொழும்பு) é a capital e maior cidade do Sri Lanka (antigo Ceilão). É também um importante porto do Oceano Índico e tem cerca de 643 mil habitantes (cerca de 2,5 milhões na área metropolitana). Foi uma possessão portuguesa entre 1518 e 1524 e entre 1554 e 1656. É capital conjunta com a cidade de Kotte, ou seja, o Sri Lanka tem o Poder Executivo e Judiciário em Colombo, mas o Poder Legislativo (Parlamento do Sri Lanka) do país está em Kotte, a segunda maior cidade do país.
