Are you familiar with Google+ (im sure
cause its getting so big, so fast), but what about the
Hangouts?
If not, it's essentially video conferencing but it feels so much better
than that. I started a "company" called Hangout -
Collab.
Based upon a huge group of musicians, singer/songwriters, dj's, comedians,
guys in the know (any field), and overall artists and creative people. Kind
of like an artists guild of the world because everyone so far in it is from
everywhere. Its so fun and im very passionate about it. Would love for you
to check it out and if you think people
you know would find it at least interesting, spread the word? Maybe social
network posts or just word of mouth. We have lots of videos already posted
online and we do live streaming events.
Mostly right now we focused on both concerts of multiple artists
playing and collaborating, training sessions on both software, instrument
playing, songwriting and composing. But I plan on expanding it more and
more. Gotta make sure my baby grows up big and strong right? It has been
said to me that our shows are great, inspiring, motivating and just a
really good intimate experience into hearing lots of great music from
different genres and conversations between the artists as well as viewers.
They only allow 10 users in a Google+ Hangout and we usually keep them
private and invite certain people in as we go, starting with just the
musicians playing whatever show it may be. As I said though, we have live
streamed through both
"livestream"
and "ustream " the various
bigger shows we do and want to start doing contests for live stream viewers
like 'name that song first and you get invited in the hangout'. Once in the
hangout and not watching on the stream, you can broadcast either audio,
video or both and conversate with us.
We have used this (all of the afore mentioned) technology to all grow as
musicians, write songs together, help to understand better ways to touch
others' lives through our arts and helped to even better ourselves. So far
there is one of our members (very talented street musician) which will go
unnamed that brought out his addiction to herion and we all supported him
to get the help needed and can say that as of writing this email he has
been through detox and now has a bed at his local rehab clinic and been
there for a week now. We make sure to keep in touch with him and see that
he is making that change in his life he wants and needs. We have also been
approached by numerous people saying they love what we are doing in general
but what really makes me feel good about what I started up here are the
ones that say listening to our music and talking with us has changed their
lives or one of our songs is their current favorite or anything else that
makes me feel that we are actually making a difference just by gathering
with great people with great talents and having a great time.
We often play original songs, write songs on the fly together and
especially vibe together and freestyle out music. There is nearly every
genre so far that has passed through our collaborations so everyone is sure
to find atleast one artist or just jam session they would enjoy. Sorry for
the length of the email, I just want to try and get this out to people that
would enjoy it but more importantly, the people that probably need it right
now.
