New Hashima - Sector 12 - Building 3
I’m really excited to unveil my latest creation that was part of the remarkable @newhashima collab (Sector 12) during Bricking Bavaria!
When I joined the collab, I wanted to add a French touch; and as Paris is known as “the city of light” I was thinking it could be a good fit for New Hashima.
My walks through the heart of Paris influenced the design: incorporating Haussmannian architecture, a sophisticated rooftop, an antique... While I was seeking to encapsulate the city’s essence, I aimed to highlight both prosperity and societal challenges such as the wealth gap, grime, and crime that both cities have (sadly) in common!
Stepping outside my comfort zone, this project challenged me: from striving to find the right balance between Parisian influences and the unique New Hashima aesthetic, by being my first attempt of a Lego Modular style, by incorporating lights… This coupled with time and transportation constraints made it even more difficult!
I hope you will still enjoy the final result and please feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!
