Great Cockup from the grouse butts

I'm never sure whether these things are just a glitch in the system somewhere or deliberately aimed at gulling people in too much of a hurry to read the figures. I generally prefer the cockup theory over the conspiracy one.

Note added 8.06.14: in the distance you can see a track along the side of the hill. This is the one that leads up to Dash Falls, Skiddaw House and, eventually, Threlkeld, on the other side of the Skiddaw Massif.

We headed up with the view of Skiddaw in front of us

A lovely sunny and frosty morning greeted us when we opened the curtains

I like looking down on trees.

Plenty of snow still clinging on up here.

The beautifully named bridge serves to link farms to the agricultural Fenlands, although a fixed bridge has been planned it is yet to be built
