Light from a golden sunset glows on the ocean's surface and reflects dark clouds in puddles formed along the beach after substantial rains.

A river of sun turned dark grey clouds white. This is a setting of ice capped hills framed by black clouds and the dark sea in the high Canadian arctic near Pond Inlet.

Parallel blue sky and water bands highlight this coastal reflection.

Along much of the east coastline of Tasmania the orange lichen grows on the rocks in abundance. This is supposed to indicate purity of air and water. The granite takes on distinctive block-like forms having been shaped by eons of time.

A coastal view showing one of the many beaches in the Mediterranean town of Sitges.

I'm not exactly certain where these trees once stood, but they, or perhaps others, have been along the shore of Jekyll Island of Georgia for as many years as I've been coming here. They make a dramatic landscape particularly at other times of the day...early morning in particular.

Cascais is a coastal resort town in Portugal, just west of Lisbon. It’s known for its sandy beaches and busy marina. The old town is home to the medieval Nossa Senhora da Luz Fort and the Citadel Palace, a former royal retreat. Nearby is the whitewashed Nossa Senhora da Assunção church, with glazed azulejo tiles. Paula Rego House of Stories shows the Portuguese artist’s paintings in a modern building.

A new crop of brussel sprouts is just starting to appear on this farm near Pigeon Point. Meanwhile the old lighthouse is looking a little lonely cast against the morning marine layer. The brussel sprouts, a winter crop, will be ready for harvest during the late fall/early winter--a scene this old lighthouse has been watching for many years.
