Emerald Bay State Park is a state park located around Emerald Bay, a National Natural Landmark, since 1968, at Lake Tahoe, California. The park is home to Eagle Falls and Vikingsholm, a 38-room mansion that is one of the finest examples of Scandinavian architecture in the United States. The park contains the only island in Lake Tahoe, Fannette Island. The park is accessible by State Route 89 near the southwest shore of the lake. Emerald Bay is one of Lake Tahoe's most photographed and popular locations.
La Bahia Esmeralda es el lugar mas fotografiado de Lake Tahoe. Tiene una islita llamada Fannette con un Castillo al estilo Escandinavo. Hay una cascada llamada Eagle falls que tiene 3 caidas y el rio que uds ven aqui proviene del deshielo de las montanas.
Domande che la mia collega mi fa mentre è di fianco a me quando sto facendo a Photoshop la grafica per una pagina cobrand: “Ma tu cosa pensi della dematerializzazione dei media?”
Che poi era una riflessione sul fatto che ormai viviamo in un epoca dove tutto è digitale e non esiste fisicamente più. Immagini, libri, musica, film, dati, soldi... tutto digitale insomma.
Beh, io sto felicemente nel mezzo.
Per alcune cose sono praticamente (nel senso di “per praticità”) digitale. La musica per esempio. Sono un grande appassionato di musica, soprattutto sono un gran consumatore di musica. Dunque l'arrivo dei lettori mp3 e delle connessioni veloci mi ha permesso di aumentare parecchio la mia “libreria” musicale, di cui ho tenuto in analogico solo i cd originali (con tutto l'artwork quindi) e quelli “fondamentali”. Il resto, tutto, convintamente, in digitale, archiviato e ordinato bene ma tutto digitale.
Invece la mia avversione verso la lettura su schermo mi tiene ancora bene attaccato al libro cartaceo (tanto più che lavorando per una casa editrice ho pure un simpaticissimo sconto dipendente), e sono fiero di vedere la mia libreria in camera che si riempie fino a diventare una sorta di Tetris con incastri perfetti fatti esclusivamente di libri (sono molto pignolo sugli incastri trai i libri, ho modificato diverse volte la disposizione dei libri affinché lo spazio fosse ottimizzato al millimetro. È davvero la sindrome del Tetris, che poi è pure il mio videogioco preferito di sempre).
Per quanto riguarda le foto invece, beh, diciamo che sto a metà: grande passione per per l'analogico, quindi cassetti pieni di rullini e provini ma anche un antico amore per il digitale che oggi si sfoga soprattutto in foto fatte più “liberamente” col mio fido cellulare Nokia che poi non mi permetto di postare qui ma mi limito a mettere su Facebook per ammorbare gli amici (anzi, finito qui vado a mettere le foto di Vichy, che forse, se è venuto fuori qualcosa, vedrete anche qui, ma delle mie vacanze avremo tempo e modo di parlarne).

Following in the trend of Honeywell rebranding Pentaxes and Beseler selling Topcons, here we have another tie-up between a Japanese manufacturer and a US company who might offer greater brand awareness in the American market.
This one was a little awkward, both typographically and as Canon had its own growing prestige around the world. But the co-branding persisted on some models for another decade or so. (See some other examples on Flickr.)
The Dial 35 seems to have done fairly well sold with a B&H-only nameplate. Perhaps it was a good fit for the company's electric-eye heritage.

With the Canon FX, a new 'FL' series of lenses are introduced, as well as adding an external CdS meter cell which was the hot new feature of the era.
The style here is quite reminiscent of the Minolta SR-7 or the Yashica J-3 which came a couple of years earlier. The meter is coupled to the camera's shutter and ASA settings, but the f/stop indicated by a needle on the top deck must be manually transferred to the lens's aperture ring.
One more advanced feature here is the mirror lockup, needed to avoid fouling the rear elements of Canon's 19mm wide-angle, but also helpful to keep camera vibration to a minimum during exposures.

It's a year since all four generations of our family came together for a weekend to share my father's 80th birthday at Middleham House in North Yorkshire. If anyone else is thinking of hosting such an event we couldn't recommend the place highly enough, we had so much fun there. It was a memorable event and I wanted to capture it with my first attempt at a photo album. Previously I had thought these things were a bit tacky and poor quality, but I found it great fun to add photos and text and to compose them in the album which arrived back with us in only two days. Almost everything was customisable, from album/book size, to page format, colour background, style, etc, etc. The finish and quality, I think, is fantastic for the money.
