British Airways invests £100 million in its new longhaul business class.
The multi-million-pound investment builds on the success of British Airways' existing Club World flat bed - the industry's first completely flat bed in business class - and sets new standards in privacy, confort and service for the business traveller and those leisure travellers who require a little more luxury when they take their holiday. The new-look Club World cabin is due to be rolled out across the airline's longhaul fleet over the next 18 months. Customers will recognise the familiar yin-yang configuration with forward and rearward facing seats, but every element of the inflight experience has been enhanced , taking advantage of the latest innovations in designs technology and interior design.
IN REPOSE
The British Airways design team worked closely with Martin Derbyshire from the Tangerine desing agency to develop the new bed, which will be more than five inches wider than the existing flat bed. This is wider than most major competitors' beds, thanks to the drop-down armrests that sink into the seat to give more room across the shoulders and upper body. The flat bed provides the perfect position for relaxation when it is reclined to a new "z-shape position", which allows the body to adopt the most natural position at zero gravity, similar to that identified by NASA.
PRIVATE PRACTICE
Club World customers can now enjoy more personal space and complete privacy, thanks to the unique "privace window", which is made from state-of-the-art materials never before used in aviation. At the touch of a button,. the screen ensures customers are not overlooked by fellow travellers in neighbouring seats, but allos cabim crew to be albe to check on passengers and ensure they have everything they need.
MAKE A MEAL OF IT
Inspired by the airline's Culinary Council, the traditional, ful inflight menu has been updated and customers can expect a high level of service. As well as the traditional full inflight menu, travellers can choose when and what they wish to eat from a selection of hot and cold snacks, light meals and refreshments from the new Club Kitchen located in the galley. Pre-flight dining in state-of-the-art lounges is also available for those who want to maximise their sleep.
HOME COMFORTS
the cabin, developed by internationally renowned designer Tyler Brule', will benefit from a brand-new look and feel to create a lounge environment rather than an aircraft cabin. Contemporary soft furnishings inspired by the popular Osborne&Little damask design and lighting effects create a warm and relaxed atmosphere. A new, righ-quality cotton quilt and pillow wil help provide the perfect night's sleep.
SPA TREATS
On the ground and in the air, the airline's partnership with Molton Brown continues. Pssengers on board will receive a newly designed grey cotton hessian washbag ful of goodies such as cotton socks, an eye mask and vitamin lip balm. The Molton Brown Travel Sapas in the airline's departures and arrivals lounges at London Heathow Terminals 1 and 4, and the departures lounge at New York JFK, continue to offer travellers a range of treatments to relax or rejuvenate before or after their flight, and ensure they arrrive at their destination refreshed and ready to do business.

It's breakfast time on board flight BA276 on the way to London Heathrow and I chose a full english breakfast featuring scrambleg eggs, bacon, pork sausage, mushroom and hash brown.

My verdict? It was great - better than the breakfast I had on the flight to HYD.
Just completed another business trip, after 6 weeks away from home its good to be back, have enough pics to keep me busy for quite some time.

British Airways Club Lunch (Beijing to London Heathrow): Prawn and crab salad with green Thai coconut salsa. Fresh seasonal salad with vinaigrette. Stir-fried beef with black pepper sauce and e-fu noodles. Butterscotch and chocolate cheese cake. A selection of cheese with biscuits a Bloody Mary and a glass of Cattier Brut NV Champagne!
Smoked Salmon and a soft white cheese with chives (can't remember which). Pity about the bright blue seat control thing in the corner.
Traveling to Europe for work in June on British Airways. This was lunch on the return leg from Gatwick to Barbados.
I didn't get a photo of this but it can be reclined to flat, and with the footrest (as seeen on the snack img) up it becomes a bed. Perfect for sleeping!
I find it rather amusing how on the printed menu, all airlines (at least the ones I've been on) always describe their fruit as 'fresh'. Can it be anything but fresh to begin with? :)

Got upgraded to this fantastic Club World Sleeper Seat. This is what makes long haul very pleasant. (May 2011)
As for dessert, it was white chocolate and ricotta mousse w/ mixed berry fruit preserves. Oh and a cup of english tea w/ milk. :)
It was teatime somewhere over the Atlantic. The warm plain scones was great and so were the sandwiches (smoked salmon, roast beef and cucumber) despite the fact that they were pre-packaged.

The main course for breakfast was ... bacon roll. This was my first time w/ BA on the trans-atlantic route so I didn't know what to expect though I guess I was expecting something more. I wonder if they served the same brekafast on other BA flights that left earlier that evening.

As we got closer to Hyderabad, it is breakfast time. For starter, it was fresh fruit and breakfast pastries. I decided to skip the granola w. yoghurt and compote

Business class breakfast (partly eaten!) in the Club World cabin, flying from Los Angeles to London Heathrow. Later, a bacon buttie was offered (and taken!). Despite the airline's name being British Airways, they did not have brown sauce with it, only ketchup.
Note the wet towel on the side bin; the rather average crew on this flight was apparently not bothered with collecting it.
I was sitting in 62A, which is a pretty good seat (but I like 62K better because you have nobody from row 63 facing you; in 62A you have 63B staring right at you).
