Cloud Control –This is a picture of the Magellan management and network control racks at NERSC. To test cloud computing for scientific capability, NERSC and the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility (ALCF) installed purpose-built testbeds for running scientific applications on the IBM iDataPlex cluster.

Staying Cool – By building the Magellan testbed at NERSC on IBM’s iDataPlex chassis, the facility can take advantage of the machine’s innovative half-depth design and liquid-cooled door, which reduces cooling costs by as much as half and floor space requirements by 30 percent. The orange tubes in the picture will carry coolant to chill the system.

Beneficios del cloud computing
La siguiente infografÃa preparada por NovelAspect, empresa de hosting y de servicios de IT, muestra de forma gráfica el crecimiento y actual adaptación de las empresas al cloud computing.
Cloud technology is complex by its nature. Cloud security also plays a crucial role. It involves various attributes like Multi tenancy, Resource sharing, Loss of control, etc
The level of security risks also mounts up as the complexity increases. That is why security angle in cloud computing is considered more challenging compared to traditional IT environment.

What is cloud computing? Most infographics I've found do a fairly poor job of explaining how the parts come together. Mostly they resort to simplistic explanations such as "data goes into the cloud, gets sorted, and comes back out", or something similar.
This infographic from ConnetU really impressed me, however, as it actually makes a real effort to illustrate what goes where, and what systems are in place to ensure that cloud computing services often get five nines of up-time.
There's a more detailed explanation on the page itself, but I think this infographic will make a great illustration for any article or blog post about the cloud, software as a service, or analytics as a service. If you do use & attribute this image, leave me a link in the comments of this page and I'll be sure to share it!
