The Cleveland Clinic Las Vegas. A great example of modern architecture. I’ve taken shots here before, but this is the first time I’ve seen it at night. Petty about that street lamp right in the middle.

A bit of a challenge, and a departure for me. A combination of mixed lighting, incandescents, skylights, and some bounced flash off of gray walls made for some "interesting" white balance fun, I had to crank the ISO up to 2500 and pictures shot that high on this old 2004 designed Canon body tend to fall apart. I used the new de-noise feature in ACR, it did a commendable job, but it took around 35 minutes per picture to accomplish. Then there was the issue with moving subjects, definitely not my forte!

Through a Clinic Window

My daughter drove me to the clinic for my shot, and I realized how small my world had become. It felt great to be driving on the highway, as a passenger.

The beautiful entry way and hall to the Mayo Clinic.

Doesn't it look lovely?

Back in the day (the 1980s I think, maybe before, maybe after too) this place was the "premier" location for the treatment of Sexually Transmitted Diseases in central Manchester. I only know this of course as it was bang (no pun intended) opposite the legendary Sports Motorcycles where we used to hang around a fair bit. "Sports" was in fact the home of the awsome Isle Of Man TT winning Ducati ridden to victory in 1978 by Mike Hailwood.

There are no "blue plaques" on the wall giving any clue to what used to go on here and the building(s) are now known as Castlefield Mews but I think it would be much better if the building's former use was proudly acknowledged as Clap Clinic Mews. I wonder how many of the residents are aware?

Of course there used to be much sniggering at the comings and goings (again, no puns intended). Once a friend of mine nearly got hit by a car crossing the road and said "I think I'm a gonner, here".

Entry of the world famous Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. My son works here in the SPARC innovation lab, which prompted our visit to the beautiful state of Minnesota.

The Mayo Clinic is a wonderful place. The medical facilities are state of the art but it is the quality patient care and compassion that makes this place stand out. Mayo has always been a place of innovation and is one of the few medical facilities that have taken a page out of the Japanese business play book. Businesses have learned that innovation is key to survival. Mayo applies this same forward thinking to healthcare. Very refreshing!

Mayo Clinic is the first and largest integrated, not-for-profit medical group practice in the world. Doctors from every medical specialty work together to care for patients with the philosophy, 'the needs of the patient come first.'

There are 3,000 physicians and scientists and 46,600 allied staff workers at Mayo Clinic in it's three locations, Rochester, Minnesota, Jacksonville, Florida, and Scottsdale, Arizona. The Mayo Clinic (in its three locations) treats more the 500,000 patients a year.
