Cliff Geyser, Black Sand Basin, southwestern Upper Geyser Basin, Yellowstone Hotspot, northwestern Wyoming, USA in August 2011 (looking ~NW).
A small cliff of geyserite (siliceous sinter), separates this feature from adjacent Iron Spring Creek. Cliff Geyser erupts frequently with water reaching up to 40 feet high. This feature alternates between having an empty geyserite basin to having a water-filled basin, to having eruptions, as seen above.

8-8-13 While the MS Veendam was anchored off Heimaey Iceland. I noticed a lot of sheep and Puffins on the cliffs that we were close to.
In Death Valley, the viewpoint above the old ghost mine of Chloride is tough to get to, but worth it. Some in the group opted to stay below this hill and walk up. It's not too bad if you pick a good line and keep your tires over the large rocks.
Bicaz Canyon (Cheile Bicazului), a narrow mountain pass linking Transylvania to the historical Romanian region of Moldavia. The canyon was dug by the waters of Bicaz River. The road crossing between cliffs and rock walls, often in serpentines, is one of the most spectacular drives in the country. It is one of the main rock climbing sites in Romania. We visited the canyon in May 2013, during a bus tour in Transylvania organized by my father.
A Békás-szoros egy tektonikus eredetű szurdokvölgy a Hagymás-hegységben, Erdélyben, Hargita megye északkeleti részén, a Békás-patak völgyében. A szorost 1971-ben védetté nyilvánították, jelenleg a Békás-szoros - Nagyhagymás Nemzeti Park része. A szoros autóbuszos erdélyi kirándulásunk egyik állomása volt 2013. májusában.

"Cliff Palace contained 150 rooms and 23 kivas and had a population of approximately 100 people. Out of the nearly 600 cliff dwellings concentrated within the boundaries of the park, 75% contain only 1-5 rooms each, and many are single room storage units. If you visit Cliff Palace you will enter an exceptionally large dwelling which may have had special significance to the original occupants. It is thought that Cliff Palace was a social, administrative site with high ceremonial usage."

Baodingshan Cliff Carvings, Mount Baoding (Precious Summit), Chongqing, China, 26 April 2009. Created in 1174-1252 under the supervision of Zhao Zhi-feng, an extensive series of Dazu rock carvings (over 6,000) and cave temples reflect a variety of Buddhist doctrines, Confucian ethical and Taoist theories in the Song Dynasty. The remoteness and inaccessibility of this site meant it was unknown to the outside world until the 1980’s and luckily it escaped the destruction of the Cultural Revolution when so many religious and cultural sites were destroyed.
