We take pride in the methods we use for learning and teaching in the mornings. There are no cubicles which allow us to engage in conversation and simply have fun – which in our opinion is the best way of keeping the mind fresh, open and ready to absorb more information. This keeps us ready to approach our client's customers on a daily basis.
Youssef Aboura (Part III), originally of Morocco, is my barber. He just returned from a three-week trip to Casablanca for his brother's wedding. Seen here cutting a client's hair. He's my irregular French tutor. His cousin Zachariah just moved here from Paris and his English is worse than my French, so we get along great.

The client has been playing around with this stream to harvest water. The stream formed in an old logging road, so the client's have had to deal with extensive erosion issues. At this site they've redirected the stream and started catching drinking water in this cistern.
Getting closer to the end, and it's time to think about finishing the project... with wood finish. I'm going by my client's (mom's) request here. She wants it to match our barn back home. This is lighter than the barn, though the barn has darkened with age. She did also say "not dark - keep it light," and I'm pretty sure this is about what she's hoping for. There are actually 2 different stains here, half on the left, and half on the right, but they look identical. I'm a little disappointed that even after properly mixing up the pre-stain, and wood finish ("Colonial Maple"), and following the directions, and wait times, I'm getting a blotchy look. Of course, this is scrap that hasn't been sanded ever. I'm pretty sure the finely sanded (400 grit) TV stand will accept the stain far better.
After extensive reading as to the uses, pros, and cons of everything here, and other things recommended in the instructions not shown here, I have decided to go pick up spar varnish, instead of using either Polycrylic™, or Polyurethane, as spar varnish is good for lots of sunlight, and will keep the wood from graying over time. The TV stand will be in a room with huge glass doors and windows on 3 sides, and 2 large skylights overhead. It gets very bright in there. I don't want it to gray in the areas around the TV's shadow.
Gorgeous day! Altough not sure about parking on a slope. Wondering if car won't roll into the river.
Paint choices for a client's various projects, shot side by side for comparison. Faux marble top was the round top for a very delicate metal antique table base. The original top was in terrible shape and not worth preserving, and we replaced that with this faux marble that I did.
小石头俱乐部3.0: The client’s priority was to maximize the natural light in their new live/work house in Montreal’s Mile-Ex district. This was made challenging by the east-west orientation of the infill lot. However, our design fills even the core of the house with light through the implementation of a 2 storey light-well which runs the length of the southern side of the house. Additional light is reflected into this light-well by the client’s office space – a white volume that sits atop the northern edge light-well. Spaces on the second storey also benefit from the light well’s luminosity; the walls adjacent to it are fully glazed and a floor to ceiling piece of frosted glass brings a very soft light into the bathroom. The expressive back facade of the house is defined by the angular geometry of the floating steel box. The front facade, however, is composed primarily of bricks to conform with the heritage character of the neighbourhood. Two disjuncted apertures break up the brick façade and are lined in aluminum. As only one side of the brick was glazed, a random mix of forward and backward facing bricks were laid to create a more dynamic façade. I didn't take this photo. This is a scan of the photo that the client was nice enough to send to me after the project was completed.
I designed the layout (along with the client), assisted with the cabinetry selection process, placed the cabinetry order and facilitated the order through the engineering and production processes. By working so closely with both the client and then the cabinetry company, I can ensure that the finished product is exactly what the client is expecting.
A happy client is the perfect ending! :)
A supplement label design for a client is a custom-designed visual representation of information about a dietary supplement product, created specifically to meet the client's needs and goals. This design should effectively communicate the product's name, branding, ingredients, recommended dosage, and any necessary warnings or cautions. It should also comply with all relevant legal requirements, such as those from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or other agencies. The design should be aesthetically pleasing, visually appealing, and consistent with the client's brand identity, while also providing consumers with the information they need to make informed decisions about their health and wellness. The goal of a supplement label design for a client is to create a product that effectively promotes the client's brand and product, while also providing consumers with the information they need to safely use the product.
